and ang: 6 figures is not always true. here in southern cali 6 figures is pretty much where you have to be to afford a house! i make 40k a year and i cant even afford a condo let alone a house! |
Yeah, that was my "arguably" point. It just depends on what the price of living is wherever you are. |

so, what, they should be taxed until everyone's down to the same level after taxes? |
No, of course not. Im trying to make you see what the effects of your extreme point of view will be. If you loosen up the taxes on the rich and balance them with those on the poor youre going to lose your middle class. The rich are going to become insanely rich and anyone making under 40 thousand wont be able to get off the ground. Its the land of opportunity. Only not. |

you guys said that he should use this money to better the world and all of that...
why does that have to manifest itself in a non profit situation or feeding the homeless or something?
what if he used the money to establish new business and invested in advance technology research that the world could benefit from? isn't that also using it for a good purpose? |

So we should only institute a half-Communist economic policy. Not quite Soviet Russia, but enough to pass off as being the same. |

Why establish a new business when there are plenty out there already doing the same things. Pick something and invest. Im all for that. |
