Religion in Hospitals.

While reading the Gazette online to get news from home, I saw an article that bothered me a bit about the Jewish General Hospital. They have decided to move out all soft drink/snack machines because they are not kosher. Hospital employees have also replaced non kosher food brought by visitors to patients with kosher food. It is also the only thing being served there. The patients have been complaining, the employees as well as doctors have also expressed their dislike for it. The majority of the people working and being treatedin the establishment are not Jewish. The right to eat what you wish IS a right that can not be enforced and protected by law. It is twice as bad in my eyes considering the Hospital is run with public funds taken from every community. It is going to be very interesting to see what the government is going to do to about this. They have already stated that these restrictions on the tax paying public will NOT be tolerated. The Jewish General does not want to comply. To Jesse (I know you will defend them) ,don't use the stupid excuse to just go somewhere else. All tax payers should have their rights protected for services their hard earned money goes to. Hospital overcrowding as well as nurse and doctor shortages also make that point moot. Somehow if a hospital only allowed hallal food, I tend to think they would be chastized more. Thoughts and opinions?

My solution:
Buy as much non-kosher as possible, eat/drink it all, then puke it up all over their hospital.

Tired of ing communities, we're a country of our own for sakes. Don't understand why everyone wants to reap all the benefits of this country just to hide amongst themselves and complain when doesn't go their way.
Same applies to those Canadians living abroad, when the Lebanese "war" occurred with Israel, a lot of those "refugees" or more politically correctly "mooching sons of bitches" that came to Canada 30 years ago just to get a passport and take off back home, actually had the NERVE to complain about their "treatment".
I think Immigration Canada should seriously begin to re-think who they hand out passports to, it isn't EVERYONE that grabs their passport and runs, but the ones that do didnt deserve them in the first place, we are one of the richest countries on earth, an elite club if you will, it is a PRIVELEGE to be Canadian, we aren't the world's welfare service.
Anyway back on topic, the Jewish General is a public hospital and this Kosher nonsense is just that, nonsense. I hope the idiots responsible for this decision get sentenced to reading long boring ass Canadian law books until they realize that their decisions affect more people than just their own "community", jews are still a minority in this country when last I checked, one of the VERY FEW sucky parts about being a minority in this country is that you should have to comply to most of the demands of the majority, so long as your personal rights aren't affected... BUT...BUT!!! Personal rights are FORFEIT when you are in a facility that has to tend to the needs of EVERYONE.
Same in as when they took down all the christmas trees, bull bull bull. |

this is a bit of a drunken post but:
jewish general was founded 70 or so years ago to treat jewish and non jewish patients because jews were not admitted into other hospitals because racist pricks ran this country
jewish general is highly funded on jewish donors.
now. this entire stupid scandal is on the "centre de convalescence de lhopital general juif, a laval" and its not on kosher food, its on kosher for passover food

Your post was not as drunken as it was stupid. THIS PROVINCE DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH BEDS...YOU MUST GO WHERE THERE IS ROOM.(in bold for the slow) The Hospital is Provincially funded with everyones taxes, and since jews are a minority...they pay less for their own.As far as the General,wrong again. My sister was there for 6 months and I can tell you their policies are similar.Yes it was funded and started by Jews in the beginning, but right njow it is a PUBLIC hospital funded by PUBLIC funds. Unless this is Isreal, why would you deprive a patients dietary needs, which is a basic human right. They aren't prisoners of war ffs and don't always have a choice to be at that hospital. Our health care system makes it so. This is not a rant against Jews as a people, but about policies they have no right according to LAW to force anyone to abide by Religious guidelines against their will.
As far as your "racist pricks" comment, you can seriously go yourself you ungrateful zionist piece of . Do you have any idea of how many "racist pricks" lost their lives to make sure you and your family could be here today. Its funny how you all forget that. Even today, if it wasn't for these same "pricks" from west (mostly the US and Britain which shared similar views in that period as Canada)Isreal would be a pile of rubble today.

Come on, Canada is a christian country if you wanna talk numbers... Of course there will be Christian symbols everywhere still, and not-suprisingly... THEY'RE GETTING REMOVED ONE BY ONE BY VARIOUS INTEREST GROUPS! Interest groups that are no doubt of a different religion and are trying to impose their will wherever they can.
Not to mention if a christian tried to put a cross above his store he'd get ran out of town,
