Another downtempo thread.

Search wasn't working again for me so I couldn't find my thread that I made a while back concerning ambient/downtempo. Thus, I have made my new one. I've determined I'm far more of a downtempo/shoegaze fan with a dabbling in triphop and glitch than I am a pure ambient fan. Vidna Obmana is a little hard for me to get into, and even some of Aphex's ambient works I've found a little too much for me (though I'll give artistic credit, it's just not my cup of tea).
Right now I'm listening to Explosions in the Sky. Great instrumental post-rock/downtempo. I went to see them play a few weeks back at a local pub and it was a tremendous show. I don't like much post-rock as it can sound tedious as , but when done well it can sound fantastic.
Anyways, diggin' artists like
Explosions in the Sky
Dntel
Hermann & Kleine
Christian Kleine
Sissy (their artist album still makes regular ing rounds)
Bitcrush
Clue to Kalo
Amon Tobin (one of these things is not like the other one)
and may I say the new Ulrich Schnauss album is delicious.
Anyone else got some recommendations. I've been looking for some with more vocals. Not vocals like in the new AIR album, Pocket Symphony, as those got a tad grating. Vocals like Sissy has in their album, All Under.
Anything good will do though. |

Well that goes without saying. I'd be retarded if I didn't already know about them but listened to Skytree - Knotwork and loved the out of it.
As for the Ulrich album, pm me I guess if truly needed. |

Knew about, and have all three. Zero Gold was my favorite album of 2005.
C'mon people, bring some new stuff to the table :p Checking the Matthew Herbert album out now, pretty good stuff. I love the random future jazz thrown in there. |
