moevalith, you got any idea how much bucks you'll sell your xone ? If I can get a xone for a good price, I might drop the effects for now. Anyway, there are 3 included on the CDJ200...

Steve's Audio. Great prices, great staff, great warranty. I buy all my new there.

Or if you want to buy online from a Canadian retailer: www.axemusic.com

Great music store in Alberta. Bought all my old gear there.

To be honest all the crap is the last thing a Dj needs when starting out, if anything, it will only mess things up.. You're almost sure to get a "dont use too many effects on this mix" feedback...

There are other fundamentals that must be learnt to second nature such as beatmatching, beatcounting and beatmixing... All of which can be achieved regardless of either filters or effects, but through practice and experience..

All I'm saying it's good to have the FXs there instead of a mixer that doesn't and costs the same...

Yes, you need to learn the fundamentals first but with your logic you're telling me I should pay the same price for a mixer with NO FXS only to upgrade once I master beatmatching? Kinda silly no?

First of all its not the same price, you mentioned the mixer you were selling was $878, a xone32 is cheaper than that..

Why pay extra money to be provided with effects that will almost definately be abused by a DJ who just started mixing? Kinda silly no?

Of course this is not always the case, but based on my observations in this very forum, playing with FX when ur just starting out is a risky choice.

I know what you mean Moe. I'd just rather pay the extra hundred bucks for a DJM400 instead of picking up a pricey FX unit down the line. :(

But he said it... don't go crazy with the FXs!!!

Different strokes for different folks man. :)

Bought a pair of Sony 7606 online. Not the best setup for online buying. Their prices are great though.

For beginner setup, and your setup is for home only, CDJ 200s are fine. Well, depends if you're just going to play trance. DJM 400 works for that sort of set up too.

Xone is great for sound quality, but if you're just going to spin at home, you don't need something that sounds fantabulous at a big club. I hate Xone32 with a passion. Worst setup ever. Xone62 is awesome though. Perfect for spinning and techno and house IMO.

I'd also reconsider geting a HDJ1000 for headphones. I've heard mix reviews, but biggest problem they have is durability. I'd consider a sony 7506 for quality, durability and price. Runs about 160 incl. tax and shipping from Steve's music.

Just my 2 pennies :)

Sony 7506 is the best djing headphone on the market, and I wouldn't buy anything else as long as they are available.

Closest thing to reference quality sound in a DJing headphone, extremely comfortable (doesnt squeeze your head at all), and long lasting.

The foam pads can wear out, but can be replaced easily.
