AMAZING ing line up. I wish I lived on the west coast :whip: .

Anyone going should definately check out Circa Survive and Explosions In The Sky. Lesser known bands out of that sea of great talents, but probably superior then some.

What's so great about the Red Hot Chili Peppers?

Was never impressed by them at all really.

Rage and the Chili Peppers are the single reason why I dream of going to Coachella:

The rest of the line-up is ing awsome, but those two bands are legend. The Zeppelins, the Rolling Stones, of our time.

Okay? They seem like competent musicians yeah, but I don't know why people make statements like "one of the greatest bands ever." That's what I meant by "not impressed."

Only the fact that they're one of the best bands that's still together?
Multiple platinum albums, longest #1 song at 81 weeks, most number of #1 songs on Billboards' Top 100, 30+ awards, and that they play more than just one genre (punk, rap, heavy metal, alternative, etc.). Not to mention their live sets are amazing (get the Slane Castle DVD)

Have you ever listened to:
Under the Bridge
Otherside
Soul to Squeeze
Dani California
Snow (Hey Oh)
Scar Tissue
Zephyr Song
Parallel Universe
Aeroplane
By the Way
Can't Stop
Dosed
Stadium Arcadium
etc. ?

Popularity impresses you?

They're listenable and I like some of their songs, but again, I just don't understand all the hyperbolic praise they receive from some people.

Good thing I'm not going, or I'd have to figure out how to deal with The Roots followed by Richie Hawtin :wtf: :wtf: :conf:

That's understandable. Maybe you don't like the poppier sides of rock. Because most of their albums are pop oriented rock. If you like the more experimental sides of rock check out John Frusciante's solo albums:

To Record Water for Ten Days and Shadows Collide with People are the two Frusciante albums that made me truly understand the genius he is. Every single one of his albums is pure genius. And his live jams with Flea are outstanding.

(starting 1:17ish) This is music. (though some people don't like Omar's intro, I think its awsome and very different than your typical Hendrix-eque or speed soloing thats become the norm in music these days).

Tiesto screws up the whole line up.
