Base as it sounds, i really wish more people thought this way. It's too much to ask of people that they be totally altruistic and non-materialistic all of the time - in fact, it's downright ridiculous. But many people love money just for the sake of money, not for the sake of the nice things you can attain through having money - sad truth of the world. :/

edit: wasn't trying to correct you or anything, was just a thought.

I think that hardly anybody loves having money just to have money; or at least, very few people admit to doing so. But many people want lots and lots of stuff, and this ends up costing lots and lots of money. The end result, lots of people running themselves ragged to earn as much as they possibly can, is the same, whether the cause is really "love of money" or "love of the heaps of stuff money can buy."

I'd like to think that. It makes a lot more sense. But people are often foolish and many do not know what it is that they love in life... I see what you are saying, that, in many ways, love of possessions and love of money, itself, are quite similar, but I don't trust people to be responsible enough with their desires to label their intentions as 'good' when it comes to ascertaining a hefty bank account.

It seems a popular bit of homogenized Xtian values that 'money is the root of all evil'...but really, I think that is is people who do and think selfish, greedy things. Not sure I'd go so far as to say that 'most' people are greedy in this way, but in my experience, there appears to be a saddening number of people I've known who want to have money for money's sake...not 'security' or to buy nice things or to afford a competitive lifestyle, but to own simply for the sake of owning - much in the way that people value things like jewelery or other ceaselessly worthless items. Just to have.

If the law is the only thing that prevents you from raping women, I think that you should probably reassess the necessity of your presence within society.

yes, all the time.

and ever wonder how much life would SUCK if you didn't work hard and try hard to get more money?

to LIVE...and EAT...and have SHELTER lol

that's why people work so hard and strive so hard. TO LIVE!

That's probably the worst way to think, life isn't about money. Our egos create standards that we all have. Society feeds you the images of being rich, and successful.. But you do have the choice to achieve that lifestyle, or just go with the flow of things.
