I saw them last Thursday for a mini-concert at Amoeba. They were ing amazing. They are in my top five bands. My sis saw them in San Francisco yesterday and said it was off da chain! We got to kick it with the saxophonist Alain and had dinner with him after the show at Amoeba. Pretty down-to-earth guy. Fun times.

Wow I love the age of youtube. If you couldn't go to a concert you can feel like you did by watching all the videos of that concert on youtube :D

That is how I kept the amazingness of the Daft Punk @ Coachella flowing for a long time.

Anyone spot Lohan during Tiesto's set?

Pitchfork: Coachella Review

Here's the Pitchfork review. It's kinda amusing and pretentious like always. Unfortunately it doesn't cover the main EDM acts of the weekend, but you get some stuff on groups like LCD Soundsystem and Junior Boys. :gsmile:

i sure hope we start tracklist threads for rhcp and ratm and the other edm acts. btw anyone know if anyone ripped sets from coachella 3 radio stations were broadcasting live? hook it up!

great pics jane! good seeing you again and it was great meeting a few TA's from way out west :p . sry i didn't get to say a proper goodbye. i kinda got sick around 10:30 / 11 and had to head back to the camping grounds right away. i would've probably fared better had i stayed in a hotel, rather than out in the hot camping grounds every day lol, but it's definitely an experience i'll never forget and would definitely be up for doing again. i'll post pics and vids up soon! :D

first time @ coachella, only my second time in cali, had a fantastic weekend overall, saw a lot of great acts ive been waiting a long time for, and caught a couple ones i didnt know well that surprised me..

Friday:
started off with Of Montreal, their recent album was great and the live performance was equally as impressive. very funky, weird and trippy indie rock with electronic elements. caught the end of David Guetta which sorta bored me and I coulda swore he started trainwrecking at one point, so I bounced to catch Peaches, who were introduced by Ron Jeremy lol. lead singer was pretty wild and kept the crowd entertained..climbing on the scaffolding, throwing around equipment and stripping off articles of clothing..and the music was rockin too..
Faithless was awesome. maxi jazz rocks. last track of their set was siiick. wish someone took a vid.:eyes:
Bjorkaint really my thing so i only listened a bit before headin to the other stage for DJ Shadow. intro was great, then he started playin the stuff off his recent Outsider album which I'm not a big fan of, so left halfway through to catch the end of Evil Nine, which was ok, nothing special.

Saturday:
Arcade Fire. Awesome. pissed i missed the Decemberists. missed Ghostface but I'll catch him @ Rock the Bells later this summer..was excited for Justice but was a little disappointed by their live show..their set @ 2006 I Love Techno was way more energetic..what I heard of LCD Soundsystem was great. heard Us V. Them which was great live..Tiesto was ok.

Sunday:
Soulwax was good, guess I'm a fan of electronica done live, but it was a lotta fun to hear. they played the DFA remix of "Another Excuse" which was absolutely nuts. decided to pick Richie over Willie Nelson and was very glad about it. he threw down a sick set just short of 2 hours. awesome dark minimal techno with flawless mixing and some sick effects, and im not much of a minimal fan, but Richie's set was insane:eyespop::eyespop:..last half hour or so had the place in a frenzy..PvDwas pretty good to start, then resorted to a bunch of cheese to finish off. ah well. Manu Chao was awesome, good happy stoner music. and Rage Against the Machinewas everything I hoped for. Zach hasn't lost that energy, and the guitar solos were great..very happy i got to see one of my favorite bands from back in the day. Wake Up was the song of the night:disbelief

hopefully ill be back out west more often, was good partyin with some west coast TAs Lomeli and Thrax (forgot your names again:p)and Ravensyz.

*edit - and someone mentioned bonnaroo being less strict. i can definitely back that up. was surprised by the amount of security @ coachella..bonnaroo is really a hippie free for all, gotta see it to believe it lol
