I've yet to decide if this whole thing is stupid or meaningful though...
Kind of in the middle I suppose

the key to break security (to copy/back-up) HD-DVDs was found back in febuary by a hacker in doom9 forums.
Now, it's become an initiative (fad) to spread the key around
and now the hd-dvd consortium is sending out Cease&Desists all over the universe, so now its become the new movement to "encrypt" the number in various ways (md5 hashes, binary, hex, etc)
edit: so all the "free thinkers" on these web2.0 forums (who hate DRM and all these anti-copy technologies) are "fighting back" for consumers everywhere. |

I'm stupid when it comes to certain aspects of technology, so bare with me here.
So this kid , who obviously had nothing better to do with his time cracked a code to burn dvd's that he was to cheap to buy? |
