| trance certainly wouldn't have the quality of producers it does (i.e no M.I.K.E, no Yves Deruyter, etc.) But I don't think trance would be totally unrecognizable. Also, I'm not sure that M.I.K.E, etc. wouldn't have been discovered due to the high amount of overseas A & R that each label does. Eventually, one of the big labels (Positiva, Vandit, Manifesto, Data, Hooj, Tsunami, In trance we trust, etc.) would've found them and made them who they are today. |

It still is,if you can take techno as well.Chris Cowie,Transa,Nygel Reiss,Ross Couch,Dave Begg,Christopher Lawrence...Good ,if you ask me!;)
There are many other trance labels that are as important as Bonzai,but Bonzai was one of the few labels that was in it from the beginning,when trance wasn't commercialized to the fullest.Along with Harthouse,(Hardfloor.Nuff said.)Eye-Q(responsible for Cygnus X and Brainchild for instance),and Platipus(I need not comment on that:D) they built the foundation for the trance scene's future and has made a MASSIVE impact on the scene in general.Platipus and Bonzai are among the few old labels that still have survived commercialization. Bonzai has sold out to a certain degree IMHO,(but still provides us with great tracks),while Platipus has gone more progressive.(a better way of dealing with it IMHO,they still manage to give us great uplifting tracks from the likes of Moogwai.) |
