because sean like many producers has an ego complex, if you read how he comes across in interviews he has an attitude problem, but he daren't open up a can of worms here. I'd love for him to have the balls to come in & address our constructive criticism but I doubt it ever would happen. There's two types of people in the music business, the nice & the jackasses and its about a 1:3 ratio at least. I know some great producers & DJs, many of whom are way bigger & better than guys like sean, but who never would speak the kind of guff he comes out with. I'd love him to prove me wrong & have a proper debate with us all over it, letting us address our concerns at the amount of classics he's doing cheap makeovers on and not producing original material much such as those who for years before have had to do. Perhaps he lacks the talent to write his own music & can only play with midis/melodies from others, but if that's the case It would be good to read about. I wouldn't hold my breath though |

lol bitter much? :stongue: sorry mate, but you're talking out of your ass here. Knowing Sean personally, I can tell you that he's the exact opposite of what you've described and I want you to do one thing. Find me one person who's met Sean in person and have that person tell us that Sean's an ass.
This thread contains very little "constructive criticism" and a lot of bashing, whining, and hating (starting with you). So why would any producer want to get involved in it? |

I've read at least one interview where he resorted to profanity to avoid answering questions. I only see the side of him that comes across in those cases, and it's not a nice one. If you know him personally it'll of course be different. I know mikey mike irl and he's totally the opposite of online too. As for jealousy, I'm really not, I experimented with production & realised I couldn't do it to a level that would be great, so I leave it to those who can, however it does annoy me to hear so many remakes of old songs, many of which don't come close to the original sets of remixes. This isn't the case for some tracks but for many, including durand/tyas for example it is. There have however been some producers, many bigger names than sean, who over the years have been members here & debated very politely, without making personal insults. Perhaps knowing him well, you could ask him if he'd answer some questions for us all that we could all put together, maybe 10-20, and give him a chance to explain. If he could do so well I'd have a lot of respect more for him, most interviews are just too nice, and never touch subjects which might aggrivate, but I think people deserve to know :) |

that is true. But you can't really make judgements based off that when you don't even know the story behind it all in the first place. Also I really don't see how swearing in an interview suddenly makes you have a huge ego complex :conf: |

I haven't met him personally but he is an ass.
He was pissed off that I thought that shivers is a generic piece of with no originality and he told me that my productions will never be good because they aren't meant to sell anything or something like that.
I can't remember the correct sentence and I didn't find the history file on the msn. I remember that I banned him right away. He was acting like he's some kind of bigshot and I'm nothing.

I thought the tyas remix of this track was bad, but I also thought the cosmic gate remix was just as bad.. I just think its so cheap and lazy to remix great classics!?!? how can you fail!? U can't is the answer.
And whilst everyone is having this discussion........
Tocas miracle (richard durrand remix) I thought this was a joke, but obviously not, heard it on Tiestos club life, and I dont think words can describe how appalling this remix is....
