Sean tyas is a great dude..Hes helped me alot when he did'nt have too. As well as being a very nice person he is also humble and he's a friend of mine so I can say this first hand. Maybe some of you are just making blind accusations about him because of some interview where he said ..who cares anyway?
It doesnt mean that Tyas is a bad person. It just means hes passionate about what he does and maybe hes annoyed about a certain situation.
As for coming on here and explaining himself..Why?? He doesnt owe anyone an explination for what he does..He makes music for his own gratification..like most producers.
Yeah some of you may not like his reworks etc...but is all this really necessary? I mean making Photochops of him..wtf??

*insert flamewar here* :p
nah j/k everyone is entitled to his own opinion but it's not the point.
He was arrogant and for no reason.
Also, I really don't think that Sean Tyas can do a 20 minutes trance piece and keep it interesting for that length. Have you listened to Falling Stars? You should try.
I'm not saying I'm the best producer ever born on earth.
I'm can't do a lot of things that BT, Chicane, Apex Twin ect. do because I'm not that good.
But at least I'm varied in my sounds and I don't use the same or almost the same presets for each track (other uplifting producers do that to, I call that generic cookie cutting cheese trance. In other words, boring).
Hack I don't even produce one style.

He didn't. He just made an awful rework using harderkick.wav so that you can hear 5 miles away that it's an tyas-rework. It's reworks like this that result in hate like you've seen in the this thread. |

| ^Thank god I still haven't heard that one. I can't imagine how that faux-minimal melody goes with his trademark beat. |

well i think the production quality on 'the drow's music is just a strong as sean tyas. however the drow is making music that is a lot more original and fresh. maybe not as memorable/cliche trance, but the drows music has a quality about it that i feel beats what tyas does.
about tyas being an ass-
i have sent him a few of my tracks/rmx's and have never received a single reply so i will not bother again. i send to marco v and almost always get an acnowledgement or comment.
so based on the fact that marco v is about 50 times busier but can find the time/ be bothered to reply, i will say tyas needs to sort out his intercommunication skills. |

Hmm. This guy made some nice gems when he came to TA. Mercury and Remember. Heck i even remixed Remember :)
I talked with him allot a year ago when i was still producing. I envy his mix quality, always pumping, he envy my variation of baselines and soundscapes in my productions.
Nice guy really, helped me learn Logic. He maybe has an ego problem? i don't know, havn't heard anything from him music and talk wise for a year. But i do remember that his big goal was to make a living out of music and marry that certain woman (which i think he did)
Now lets face it? Majority of the world asks for mainstream music. The minority sits home chilling to good music and discussing on forums. The majority pays more than the minority. And thats life.
I know it's good for a producer to make his own work instead of staying remixing and reusing old sounds.
But last month i decided i tune in to ETN and listen to whats new.
From the 20 hours of pure listening. 15 of them were songs with vocals cutted, reversed, delayed, reverbed and just thrown in the song in a random pattern with a sweepie acid or whatever.
Needless to say? back to progg and breaks! |
