that's just IGNORANT man.... its one thing to have your own opinions and tastes, its another thing to rip up an entire scene just cause you don't understand it.
its fine not to like something. but don't call it CRAP just cause you can't appreciate it.
and another thing, people don't listen to hip hop cause its on the radio. its on the radio cause people LISTEN to it. most people are pretty intelligent, believe it or not, its not like the radio stations brainwash them. trance fans aren't the only people with half a brain in this world, =P.

First of all people need not put down music they dont understand, the same way we get pissed off when uninformed people make comments about "techno". A few points id like to make:
@"its all the same": If you mean the top 40 mtv plays than your right, but the same could be said about trance. Otherwise Have u listened to A tribe called quest beg people to stop violence, or Public enemy make very accurate(at the time) political statement? Probably not.
@Hip-hop not being an art: Whoever it was who said he wrote rhymes(cant remember the name) it absolutly right. Its not easy you cant just stary rhyming and hope to have a good song. Its very difficult, I tried I failed and so do most people. Its very skill intensive so at least respect that. About the poetry thing, it does share many similarities if you look at the lyrics to almost any rap song you can see them following the same structures as "classic" poems.
@Wiggers:does a bunch of dumb who listen to the music really make the music itself worse? Oh and there are plenty of non black people who can relate. I know that around midnight theres always helicopters flying around patroling gang activity, and theres not a single black gang in my area not one. |

Isnt that what most people say when they hear some of the cheesy trance tracks? Lets not judge a book by its cover( in this case the whole genre based on some comercial crap) Secondly why does everyone site lots of fakers listen to it as there excuse for not liking the music? Before you or anyone else judges hip hop or any other music or thing in life for that matter learn what its really about. |

I like some rappers and some rap music, but most of it annoys me. Everything from their "bling bling" to their mercedes-benz. Why is it when i see a rap video with cars, the have mercedes. Fine they are nice cars, but stop following other rappers :mad:
Why i dislike most rap:
-unoriginal in their bling bling
-takes no skill
-they portray the world as slutty women, money, and more rap
Rap doesnt take that much skill because you just talk fast with a rhythm...
Things i hate:
-nelly and his stupid bandaid :mad: :mad: Shove that stupid bandaid up your ass
-rappers who say "bling". Lemme take your bling and shove it up your blinger |

| To the guy who posted above me how can u say rapping doesnt involve skill? All the rapers write there own songs. But delivery of them isnt much easier you have to have propper flow if it requiered no skill we would all be millionares rapping bout nothing. Have you ever heard freestlying thats some of the most difficult in the world. I suggest you check out eminems freestyling thats some crazy . I dont like a lot of eminems comercial but he can freestyle like no other. |

I totally agree with that, although I cannot stand any commercial hip/hop rap that is out at all. I mean come ing on, "cadillac grills, cadillac mills, check out the oil my cadillac spills?" I could spit out something better than that.
However I really enjoy underground hip-hop. It's all about being able to rhyme well, and making decent beats that don't all sound the same like TEH CASH MONAY MILLIONAREZZZ! |

| well you know the people that produce rap will think why people listen to songs that have no singing or lyrics at all such as electronica music. so its all about taste. i dont like classical or country music but i could understand why others do. |

and I LOVE Eminem. to me, Dre is like one of the best producers, and Em has very good rhymes. (he can freestyle too!!!)

i respect ur opinion and all but I CANT STAND EMINEM. sorry just had to get that out. he just rips on people and talks about killing himself so that he can sell records. me and my friend were screwing around last night at like 3 in the morning and we were putting on all his old crappy cds and we started listening to one of his eminem cds and i have to admit the lyrics are catchy, but then we couldnt get the music out of our heads and couldnt fall asleep until we put on some trance to clear our heads |
