totally agreed. i think our guestlist is somwhere between 25 and 30 people. |
Are you sure you can stop there? I know with my family, if someone isn't invited, they will hold a grudge and won't talk to us for a few years. :stongue: |

i have no problem explaining to my family that i want a very small/intimate/personal wedding and NOT a family reunion. i don't think any of my family members will have a problem with respecting that. |

The only family of mine that will be in attendance are my parents, two sisters, and my godparents.
My mom has 13 brothers and sisters, my dad 11. No way I'm trying to figure out who gets invited and who doesn't. |

geez..you sure you can keep it that small? small circle of family and friends? i know ill do ALMOST whatever my future wife wants with the wedding as its really for her (i couldnt give a about the actual procession and ) but i know the ONE things i wont allow is a HUGE wedding. no more than 75 people. anything bigger. as jake said too much hassle. too much worry. and too chaotic. |

exactly what i want to avoid. a family reunion. but i also know that my best friends family has 12 people and i know that by the time i get married almost all of them will be 18+ with the exception of 3 of the kids but they will be significantly older than they are now. but then theres my father (no i wont invite my egg donor), my sister and her fiancee, 3 or 4 other very close friends, and thats it for me. but theres her peeps. just mine alone is about 20ish. so i guess really 50 people is a good number. all my peeps can go that i find mean the most and she can choose the select few that she wants. |

It's not as if we haven't already sat down and hashed this out a bit ;)
We've got a good idea right now, and hopefully we'll be able to keep it pretty small. :) |

It's going to be at Myra's aunt and uncles house. They live on an island that I guess is in the middle of Puget Sound.
I wish we had copies of the pics her aunt had when we went to New York last month - the place looks amazing. |

we're going to be forced to keep it small since the ceremony/reception is going to be held at my aunt and uncles house. it's actually gonna make it easier to explain to people why they're not invited... i'll just say that we can't have too many people at their house so we were forced to shorten our invite list.
i feel kind of bad for not inviting my whole family, but like i said, i just don't want a family reunion with kids running around and too much going on. it's just not my idea of a perfect wedding, and i have no problem being selfish and doing things the way WE want to do them.
Walker, i'm not entirely sure what island/city they live in, but my aunt mentioned something about finding hotels in Gig Harbor for people to stay at. so maybe it's around that area?
actually, on second thought, i think they do live in Gig Harbor. |
