im sure he'll probably spin 12-2... avalon has pulled this stunt several times in the past to try to get more people to come ~ all part of their ty management which has alot to do with why theyre closing in two months...

you're probably right... i remember a few months ago when they booked SVD at "ID" and he was supposed to spin for 4 hours, he ended up playing at Axis from 12-2. - oh yea, not to mention it was supposed to open at 10pm... i got there at 9:55pm and they said that they weren't opening until 11... - how can you play 4 hours when there's only enough time to play 3? ESPECIALLY when he didn't even start playing first... boston is a joke

Wow. A man in the know.

For the record. Paul will be playing for 4 Hours 10pm to 2am. This is why we are opening at 8pm to ensure that everyone who has a ticket gets into the venue and has the chance to see Paul for 4 hours.

With regard to the closure. We are about to invest $14 million into the venue. This will not be a major rennovation it goes way beyond that. We are all very excited about this prospect. It will change Boston nightlife.

With regard to SVD: Unfortunately. Sander did not want to play 4 hours on the night. He was tired and we were fine with that. So Mr Man in the know, as far a Avalon is concerned, you may not know it all. You may think you do and that's great. Thanks for your point of view and we hope that clears it all up.

There's one important question for me to ask. I don't think I've heard whether or not they'll still book DJs at this renovated venue. Will they do it? (Please say 'yes.')

my only question is when they say seats... are they talking in terms of capacity or are they actually going to put chairs in the building concert hall style?

uhhh still doesn't change the fact that you'll close at 2am and you don't let anyone under 21 in. Avalon has gone downhill every since 2003, maybe 2004. 95% of the crowd doesn't even know who the is in the DJ booth most of the time.

IT's ALL ABOUT RISE bitches were political does not exist and it's all about the music. Avalon, just another "superclub" trying to make that dough

oh and p.s - it's Paul, not Pual as the title states

For people going to this event, what time are you going to get there?

last time paul was here, there was a massive line (45 min). I want to avoid that this time around.

though since he is starting at 10, instead of 12, do you think there will be a big line that early?

We dont really use the DJ booth. We present our DJ's on stage, for the most part. We're really glad you like Rise. Have a great time there next Friday.
