Got in at 9 wtih Dave Raplh playing. Hee played a solid opening set (highlight was some remix of Olive- Your not Alone). By 9:30, avalon was getting full, but it wasnt packed until about 11ish.
Paul got on at 10 and just layed it down from there.Paul brought the sickness, playing some hard ass beats that me dancing the entire time. He looked really into the set the entire time and was giving off a great vibe. The crowd was pretty good, except there were a ton of drunk s in the front that made it seem like a mosh pit.
Some tracks I remember:

overall, great night. That was a good blow out for avalon. Def liked the 4 hr gig. They should do that will all the DJ's....

First off, Dave Ralph played Lustral - Everytime(909 Vox Mix). So my night was made before PVD even got on. Thats one of my fave songs right now. And then PVD played it again! PVD started off the set with class, with a nice intro melody (pretty sure it was in between) and then rockin tune after rockin tune. Most of which I cannot ID. Which makes me very sad. Anyone know the first 5 or so songs? In fact I think the first 45 minutes were my favorite. But it was very good night overall. Amazing way to help close out Avalon and Axis.

anyone who assumes that it's only the under 21 crowd rolling and failing about like an epileptic babboon hasn't been out on the dancefloor lately. i can't tell you how many times i get thwacked or my feet stepped on by idjiots rocking sunglasses with saucer eyes. At least the youngins' are small enough to boot out of the way. It's the big muscle sweaty dudes that freak me out... It's gotten to the point where unless i am with a crew of people creating space to rock out, i just stick to the back where i have some room. I am not giving up my dancing, but i do not feel the need to pretend like i am at a hardcore show and mosh with "deep emotional feeling" people flopping about like hippies at a dead show... maybe i am just getting too old for this shyte. |

actually... you never get too old, you just party smarter not harder.
either it's in your soul or it's not. those who make excuses just don't remember where they came from. besides the vibe in that place was electric, even if i did have to deal with some interesting characters... for the record, since when was it cool to drop before 9pm?

You're absolutely right, I agree with you on that too. Although from my personal experience the people who are drugged out, and yes it's all ages,I have to actually push them to move because they aren't even aware of whats going on. Most people, even the big dudes when they bump me usually apologize. It goes both ways... And I def agree with you on the party smarter thing... |

my personal opinion, it's not the people rolling or on someother drugs that are the problem, its the drunk f*cks crashing into people. Personally, i had one huge as drunk guy leaning against my back and i'm not small by any means. There was another drunk kind (who looked like a smaller version of fat joe) who was chasing girls around and pushing people out of his way. Then there was the drunk kid who hoisted is gf on his shoulders and they both nearly toppled on a couple of people.
It was also the drunk kids who started a fight at AVB last oct.
So, before you go lamenting that its "ecstacy babies out who take up the whole dance floor with the wavy arms and bump in to everyone", take a look around and realize that the majority of people causing problems in the clubs are drunk. |
