I just read your experience. Yours was really ed up too, but in your expereince, you were able to open your eyes to notice that the candle was flickering. I wasn't able to open my eyes in my expereinces!

I also read the part where people told you it was just a stupid dream. People told me the same thing, and even accused me of being on drugs or something, lol. If they had that same expereince, they wouldn't be saying it was just a dream (although it was a dream).

Was that your only sleep paralysis experience, or did you have more? And did you ever end up playing the ouija board or figure out why your dog was barking? lol

There’s a perfectly legit reason for all of it. It’s just something that happens. Your body mentally wakes up before your body physically wakes up. You shut down in sleep mode, otherwise you’d get up and act out your dreams, u follow?

And I’ve actually had my sleep paralysis experiences happen after a weekend of drugs more often than not. It has to do with ur mind still racing and being awake, but your body is physically shutting down. I get it at the onset of falling asleep rather than upon waking up, like I described in that story. And I don’t get the feeling of the presence in the room. I just feel my body slowly start to drift out of my physical control. It’s always scary.

theres a reason why you can only remember bits and pieces of your dreams. the parts you remember your not in the deepest stage of the sleep cycle. at the deepest stage your brain is in a state that prevents it from remembering anything that is going on. you can rembember things that are going on at the very beginning of stage 4 but if you get well into stage 4 or deeper you wont remember anything past that point until you drift back into the lighter stages throughout the sleep cycle.about every 90-120mins your cycle restarts.

*Edit* I used to always have nightmares about tornados and tidal waves, so I looked it up on the first link, and this is what it said:

Tornado

To see a tornado in your dream, suggests that you are experiencing some extreme emotional outbursts and temper tantrums. Is there a situation or relationship in your life that may be potentially destructive?

To dream that you are in a tornado, signifies that you are feeling overwhelmed and out of control. You will be met with a series of disappointments for the next week or so. Your plans will be filled with complications.

To see several tornadoes in your dream, represent people around you who are prone to violent outbursts and shifting mood swings. It may also symbolize a volatile situation or relationship.

---------------------------------------

Tidal Wave

To see a tidal wave in your dream, represents an overwhelming emotional issue that demands attention. You may have been keeping your feelings and negative emotions bottled up inside.

To dream that you can create a tidal wave with your mind, is analogous to your ability to control your emotions and keep them in line.

In part of my dream last night, we were trying to get my dad to the hospital, against his wishes, 'cuz he was acting REALLY weird, and I was convinced he'd started taking/snorting/injecting something (irl, that thought is beyond absurd...the most exciting thing he does is play golf). When we got to the hospital, it turned out it was in NY, and they wouldn't let anybody in, so we pretended we didn't really want to get him in, then tried to sneak him in. When we got inside, though, it turned out it was possibly the most bizarre show/festival/concert ever. There were a few people there, but there were these two weird photo booths by the stage...idk...and people were playing sets that were like 10 minutes long, each. When we walked in, Adema was playing (:wtf: they blow, and I haven't heard OF them in at least 5 years), and then, suddenly, some DJ followed them and opened with Someone Else - Mi Lapiz Es Amarillo. I tried telling someone that it was Someone Else, but they couldn't understand who it was supposed to be in the first place.

So...what does this mean?

Also, that's about 1/50th of the dream. It was really bizarre.

Well, about seeing your dad in your dream, this is what the link that I posted said:

Father

To see your father in your dream, symbolizes authority and protection. It suggests that you need to be more self-reliant. Consider also your waking relationship with your father.

To dream that your father is dead, forewarns that you need to proceed with caution in conducting your business.

To dream that you are hitting your father. represents a desperate need for greater closeness with your father. You feel that he is not listening to you. In particular, if you are hitting your father with a rubber object, indicates that whatever you are doing or telling him has no significant effect on him. Things just literally bounces off him.

yeah, it's weird though...'cuz it only looked kinda like him...he actually started out being somebody else...then kinda morphed into my dad later...it was weird. He was being way more weird when he didn't look like my dad, though. Either way, he didn't remind me of my actual dad at all. It was strange.

You can only put so much thought into the meaning of your dreams. Like someone already mentioned, your every day activities are definitely going to have effect on them. Sometimes, a bunch of little things that happened to you during the week (minor bull) are in the back of your head. Not even “things” but rather thoughts too. And sometimes they all come together in some wacky way when you dream.

Last week I was at my best friend’s house and we were just smoking and bullting over dinner and we got to talking about my ex and the car crash he had (he was drunk and 2 ppl died…long story) and how he got a new ride now because his other one was totaled. So we’re yacking about his new car and bla bla bla. Well that next Monday, my best friend calls me at like 8 in the morning and he was like, “oh ok I just wanted to talk to u because I had a horrible dream”

He dreamt that I got in the same accident with my ex, only it was in his new car.

So obviously us talking about it the night before had effect on his dream.

Oh yea and I used to have a reoccurring nightmare about being on the beach with my mom and a huge tidal wave was coming and as I went to run away from it, there was a huge sand cliff forming and getting higher and higher, the more I climbed so I could never reach the top…and the tidal wave was coming at us.

Crazy part is that my mom used to have the same exact dream. We later discovered it one time when we got on the subject of dreams and I told her about that one I used to have and she almost spit her drink out. It was creepy.

I always have dreams I'm at the beach and a huge wave is coming but I'm in the water and the undertow doesn't allow me to run away. Sort of similar to when you're trying to run away from something in a dream and it feels like you're running in slow motion.

Clovis remember when I had that REALLY wacked out dream about us wind surfing across the pacific and then coming up to a beach and colin Farrell was there drinking vodka? Hahah that was honestly one of the most bizarre and vivid dreams I remember having.

That’s what brought us together actually because I don’t think u and I chatted much or anything like that before I had that dream and then posted about it.

Ive been having issues lately where I think rats or snakes are in my bed. I end up waking up and freak out by jumping out of bed. Finally I realize it was a dream and go back to bed but first i have to look under everything to make sure there is nothing there.
Slylee
yikes that sucks.

does anyone have jumpy limbs? i will literally be JUST about to crash completely and then my leg just all of a sudden jerks up in the air...or my arm. it's weird.
