jesus ur like my mom.
there's this weirdo guy who goes for walks all the time around our neighborhood and when my mom is walking the dogs, she's always like, "HI!" :D and he just sort of grunts at her. well, u'd think she'd just be like, "ok well then screw u" and move on right? nope. my mom is like on a ing mission to make this guy say hi to her. she's like, "i don't understand! i walk by him practially EVERY day and he won't say hi, bla bla bla" i'm like, "lol mom just leave the guy alone, christ. maybe he is nervous around people or something"
this is why i think i'd be fine in NYC. don't get me wrong, when someone says "hi" to me, i smile right back and say hi. i have no problem being friendly and nice, but i'd rather not have small talk with a stranger i could give 2 s about.
oh yea and one time my mom and i were in the car coming home from somewhere and we saw that guy walking (i think i was drunk and we were coming back from dinner) and i was like, "HAHA! MOM! there's your friend! let's beep at him and be like, 'HIIII!!'" lmao
ok maybe u had to be there but we were laughing so hard in the car she could hardly drive. |

they probably were apprehensive because they didn't know you. you have work up to it, like on a date, you don't until after you've eaten dinner. the other reason is that either crazy ppl or talk-oholics will start talking to out of the blue.
as i've matured i've become more comfortable greeting ppl and striking up a convo, but my mom often cross the line being too chatty with strangers. |

My Apt complex mainly houses undergrad students. Then there's a hawt lady sheriff who lives a few apts away :tongue2. Stays home by the day and works in the nights. Other than that, there's a mexican couple and a bunch of chinese people who work in the local China Buffet. |
