so i went out with one of my friends who i haven't talked to in about two years with two other chicks on friday and saturday...
my friend told me she wasn't feeling well (cold) and i forgot all about that when we were at the club on saturday. we were buying drinks and having fun in the v.i.p and having a good time so when she let me try her red bull and vodka drink, i went ahead and took a sip or two(i usually don't drink from other people's drinks but we were pretty close) and what do you know, yesterday i woke up feeling a bit ty. however i feel a lot better today... in fact i don't feel sick anymore. i haven't caught a cold or flu in about 2 years or so so i'm glad it was very short! i made sure i consumed plenty of vitamin c and drank a lot of juice.. and i took only two teaspoons of nyquil this morning and rested.
do you guys usually use vitamin c when you feel like you're bringing in a cold? does that seem to help you out? |

| Yes I use vitamin C, and yes it helps. It gives a boost to the immune system and helps to fight it off. Echinacea has the same effects. |

propolis - can be found at your local GNC/Vitamin Shoppe
it comes in pills or a liquid drop form, i bought the liquid drop form and placed 10drops in a small shot/cup of water

Propolis is marketed by health food stores as a traditional medicine, and for its claimed beneficial effect on human health. Holistic therapists often utilize propolis for the relief of many inflammations, viral diseases, ulcers, superficial burns or scalds, in conjunction with acupuncture, ayurveda or homeopathy. Propolis is also believed to promote heart health and reduce the chances of cataracts; most of these claims have never been clinically evaluated, in part because the composition of propolis is completely unpredictable (below). Depending upon its precise composition it may show powerful local antibiotic and antifungal properties. |

Antibiotics won't do anything for a cold because they're viral infections. Lots of juice, lots of rest and you'll get over it quickly. |

| Yup, antibiotics are useless against viral infections. |

Z-Pack (zithromax) is an antibiotic so it won't do anything against the cold. Its actually harmful in a way to take antibiotics when you don't need them because your body builds up an immunity to them for the times you actually do need them. |
