Dad's jokes:

Dad reprimanding them: :o

Dad REALLY reprimanding them: :nervous:

Dad stinking up the bathroom: :whip:

Dad leaving his wallet out: :thepirate

Dad talking about when he was young: :conf:

Dad going away on a business trip: :( (young) :disbelief (teenager)

Hahaha, possibly. I honestly worry that I won't be able to balance discipline with plain old being a kid. But w/e, I'll worry about it when the time comes I guess.

I just don't want my kids to be ing whiners. Ughhhhhhh.

well my kids aren't going to have computers in their rooms and dvd players with cable, and cell phones, and new cars, and all that ing bull until they are like almost out of high school or on their way to college or whatever career path they chose (i'm not going to force college on them).

it's borderline insanity to me these days with kids and all their electronics and freedom at such young ages. 15 year olds getting limos and hotel rooms for homecoming. it's like why dont u just throw them a pack of condoms and some booze and the car keys and and tell them to have a blast.

on the contrary though, i will be more than happy to be the designanted "party house" and i'm sure i'll be a big goofball mom too. i will find a healthy balance. my kids won't be whiny brats and they'll have manners, that's for sure.

I had all that when I was younger, but because of my grandma and we all know how grandparents spil their grandchildren...especially being the only one. I don't see anything wrong with having it all, if it's not just handed to them for no reason. If they earn it then I see no reason why they can't have a TV or what not in their room.

EDIT: minus the condoms, and limo to homecoming...we dont have that here.

the question is what will they say about you, not to you :p

but ill play along and say that my kid would ask me something along the lines of "im goin to re-up pops, need anything or u all set?"

i still think that a 10 year old doesn't need a home theater in their room, complete with computer and internet and cell phone. i'm not joking, that's how it is down here. once they are teenagers in high school and proving themself in something (grades, sports, art, etc...) then i will definitely reward them, but i won't just hand them a brand new car, and not make them have to work for some of it, even if they are getting good grades. they'll get a summer job and contribute to the insurance or payment or something. u have to teach them how to be adults and make money and save, etc...

i see so many little punks come in the restaurant with their parents playing a gameboy. it pisses me off. people are idiots and lazy when it comes to parenting.
