Wish me luck... :nervous:

It's only from 9 - 11 at a local small club, which is typically dead at this time on a Friday. Though I know of at least 20 of my friends that are going to support me.

Gonna be playing some prog and (so-called) electro-house. Stuff with dirty, gritty basslines. This is more of a hip-hop/top-40 club, so I'm going to try to give them something to catch their attention without sounding cheesy.

Hey, we all have to start somewhere. Any big club is going to want club experience, so this should get help you build that.

In my experience, playing at clubs that are predominantly hip-hop/top-40 can be a frustrating way to begin your club experience. Every 10 minutes or so, you'll have the quintessential drunk blonde bimbo come upto say (or slur) "hey, you should play [insert generic hip-hop track here]. everyone wants to hear it."

It's cool that you'll have a good group of friends there. That always makes it more fun.

Good Luck David :)

Who else is playing, and what club are you playing at?

Sorry for the delay, guys... was a very busy and fun-filled weekend. ;)

It went great for a first gig! I had a lot of fun. My mixing was spot on with a mild exception or two, and I had people dancing most of the night. It was definitely great to have a group of friends there to support me. I had a smile on my face the whole night and after the first few tracks started, I was bouncing around and having a blast.

The highlight of the night for me was a little past mid-way through my set, when someone requested one of my original tracks, and I played it, hearing it over the club system and having people dance to it. It feels really good when people get into something you created. It was also very cool to have someone go "omg what track is this?" and for me to be able to say that it was mine. :)

Also, apparently one of the fairly known locals (who is also a promoter) is talking about setting up a monthly EDM event at a local club here in Dayton. Rumor has it he wants to talk to me about it...

Here are a few pictards from the event.
