| call them and tell them you just recently moved to another county. that's what i did when i was called for jury duty. it was the truth, but i don't know how they'd verify for you that it wasn't the truth, ya know? |

I got called for stand-by Jury Duty a couple of months ago. I had to check the juror numbers every day after 5 to see if I had to report the next day.
The twist was that I had a pre-arranged vacation later that week and was concerned that I would get called for duty on those days. So I just e-mailed the juror manager and explained the situation. She said if my number did not get called, it would be just like I served. If it did get called, then she would just put my name back in the system for random drawing.
So make something up man! :p |

I got called up for jury duty again for the second time in 2 years. . I go in the 29th.
Last time, I got out of it by telling the court that I was biased towards law enforcement (there were law enforcers taking the stand as witnesses) - because of the recent sex scandals going on in the Maricopa County Sherriff's department. Worked for me, got excused to leave.
Don't know what I'm going to say this time, will get out of it though. |
