we all got what we got out of it and I think you basically looked at the tv box for an hour.
 |
i agree with you...i don't think the ending was all that bad when you look back at it. artistically it was much better than having a load of people die.
The show ended by having the music stop, unlike every other ending, well done i say.... |

Heres a different take on the ending..
The last scene we sort of felt the way Tony feels every day of his life. Every time that door opened, Tony would look and see if he's about to get shot; and the viewer got to feel that with him. Everyone expected someone to walk into the diner and shoot the whole family. That fear is something Tony has to live with everyday, and the viewers got to experience just 5 minutes of that fear/anticipation. A bit too artsy for a show about the mafia, but it worked. |

I didn't get what I wanted out of it!! There is no point to building that amount of suspense and ending the scene in the middle. Tony may well have been killed (nice nod to the Godfather if there was a gun hidden in the toilet) but what about the others? With all the parking Meadow did there must be something up with her. Anyway, the writers wrote something, but we never saw it. I understand leaving conclusions up to the viewer, but this is RIDICULOUS!
I like your "everyday of Tony's Life" analysis, but as an ending for the whole show, not so much. |

I guess in this case we just wait for the DVD and the makers commentary of that episode. |

Sheila pointed out sumfin to me and its ed up....The fact that every person in the diner at the end was listed in the credits means that they originally had speaking parts that were eventually cut... |
