| People like him because he is famous, and yes he is overrated. Years ago he was fairly respectable as a producer, then his music went downhill but it didn't matter because he had learned how to exploit mindless fanatism and dj-worship. |

tiesto is what you'd call a 'consensus product' just like a mcdonalds hamburger, an ipod, a honda civic, the windows operating system, etc. nothing more nor nothing less. |

The question is more like, why Tiesto isnt as good as he used to be ?
1998-2002 vs now
The answer is simple, he is going after the newbie crowds. People who dont know the genre too well, and giving them a cheesy lesson about this genre.
He has changed commercial trance in a big way, and right now,no trance Elites can stand him.
Same goes to PVD, Armin, Ferry , Matt Darey....etc
They are using their fame to attract the newer crowds by the way.
Point to note : Money comes from commercial/pop music, and thats what he they are after.
Obviously, we have discussed this issue a hell lot here. No one wants to go through the pain of ting at Tiesto again. |
