The question is more like, why Tiesto isnt as good as he used to be ?
1998-2002 vs now
The answer is simple, he is going after the newbie crowds. People who dont know the genre too well, and giving them a cheesy lesson about this genre.
He has changed commercial trance in a big way, and right now,no trance Elites can stand him.
Same goes to PVD, Armin, Ferry , Matt Darey....etc
They are using their fame to attract the newer crowds by the way.
Point to note : Money comes from commercial/pop music, and thats what he they are after.
Obviously, we have discussed this issue a hell lot here. No one wants to go through the pain of ting at Tiesto again. |
I see. Well Im reasonably sure Im a trance noob cuz I dont pay attention to the culture but simply listen to what I like. But I dont like tiesto, or at least what I have seen of him. But Im still pretty sure Im new. Is no good by prodigy considered a noob song? That reminds me does anyone know where I can get that song without the lyrics in it? The song is awesome but the lyrics are lame |

There are no instrumentals for "No Good" if I remember correctly.
"No Good" was popular, mainly for the vocal sample. So I guess it is a bit cheesy, but it's a decent song nonetheless. |

You have good taste in music. That perhaps maybe a reason.
Plus, no one ever said all nOObs are supposed to like Tiesto. But mostly, people who want to be a part of trance quickly, tend to DJ worship their way through.
no good, back in time was a gem. |

dam that means I have 2 get some of the composers I know online to make it 4 me. I dont like 2 get composers to make me songs unless Im gonna use it in a game Im making. But I cant use it cuz its copyrighed. Anyways thanks. BTW: really?!?!?! it was popular for the vocals??? The vocals were extremely brief and just bad. The instrumental was awesome bur the vocals consisted of a total of about 14 different words and they werent even that good of words. I cant believe thats how it was known. Also can somebody suggest some songs that are really good and I might like if I like no good. I dont really know that much about trance culture so I probably dont even know whats considered the legendary hit songs or anything. Anyways I am looking for some new songs so I would appreciate some suggestions |

this thread is funny.
[insert random tiesto bashing here so someone can quote it and create a rebuttal worthy of a 3rd grade debate team.] |

He asked a question, answer with your opinion..
For a start, Tiesto isn't my favourite dj, but from someone who brings us tracks such as...
Delerium - Silence (tiesto mix)
Skin - Faithfulness (tiesto mix)
Tiesto - Flight 643
Tiesto - Suburban Train
Tiesto - Adajio for strings
You can't really knock him. Love him or hate him, i'm in between. I respect what he has done for the industry and what he has achieved.
Hes marketed well, likewise with the rest of the top djs this is in reflection of their status, I think people don't like seeing other people be successful... |

Nothing unique, just good/decent tracks with tiesto's name on them, with the exception of Adagio For Strings which is horrible. |

Congratulations, you have been nominated as this weeks Tranceaddict.com cunt of the week
You really are trying so hard to be funny but it's just not working. Nobody gives a if you do drugs, nobody thinks answering with tiesto- fly as a suggestion is funny anymore, it's just all a lame act which is getting less & less funny.
To answer the question, tijs is a good market man, he knows how to get mass markets to like him and he has used some good co-producers/engineers in his time to have enough 'good' tunes under his belt. As a person he can be a bit of an arrogant prick which will put many off, there's been many times i've heard of him flat out ignoring members of this board at an event when other djs (i remember armin being pissed out of his skull at i think crasher or godskitchen once and partying with uktas amongst others in the crowd) are better in that aspect. Love him or hate him, he's been successful, if you don't like him, just find something you do like, there's enough out there of a high quality. |
