Tiesto's Club Life isnt done with software, he doesnt like Ableton
you can clearly hear that at times :)

All queries regarding GDJB should be directed to TigerClaw.

Yeah, if it was done with software the mixing would be better :D

I'm pretty sure it's done on ableton. If you listen to a 2-hour liveset by armin, a&b or markus - they would usually up on at least one transition.

it's also much easier with sw.....with cd players if you screw up a transition near the and of the mix it's not that good. you'll have to rerecord the whole thing again?

ableton let's you do so much more and it's pretty much flawless you just need creativity.

If you screw up a mix with cds/vinyl you can still fix it with software. You would just stop the mix, cut out where you messed up and then start back up the last track you played and redo the mix. You would just have to make sure the previous track is at the exact same tempo as it was when you stopped so you can align everything on point.

Nope, he already proved that even with ableton he can't mix for .

He's never mixed a set with Ableton or an album for that matter

Armin ASOT & John Digweed's Transitions radio shows are done with Ableton...they're the only ones I know.

Tiesto on Club Life....sounds like no Abelton..you can tell cuz his mixes are either too rough or quick changes.

Trance Around The World is now done with Ableton and is pre-recorded since episode 115 I think.

I remember in the old days when Paavo put the same record twice (It was Mike Shiver - Morning Drive) and he quickly mixed the folowing tune (Pesh - Treshold). Luckily he didn't have to do a whole lot of beatmatching cuz both tunes are 138bpm native. They also used to press wrong buttons and wrong jingles would pop out. It was fun. Also when they just couldn't say the name of the tune quickly enough they just gave up and said "Well have a listen!".

I miss theses days...

A State of Trance is done with Ableton and pre-recorded also since 2005.

GDJB I don't know.

Tiesto Club life is not Abletoned.

As for others I don't know.

I guess this is why Markus changed his intro a little bit for the show last week:

quote:
What's everybody and welcome to another edition of the Global DJ Broadcast. Today on the broadcast you gonna hear a one hour mix with me, Markus Schulz, on the decks. [...] Alright, let's get it going now. Yours trully Markus Schulz taking over the decks.

Attaboy, Markus. Staying true to yourself.

Using Ableton to only beatmatch should be illegal and penalized by dropping the lazy ass in question 10 spots in the DJ Mag poll. ;)
