Storyteller, love your Rideau Street remix! Killer tune.

I'd say about 4-6 and my mixes aren't nearly as tight as they should be.

while any of the technical aspects such as beatmatching, harmonics, phrasing etc are unaffected even when im basically blacked out like someone already mentioned i also start to get a little sloppy with the track selection and overall mixing around 5/6+ beers.

Yup, another drinking machine here. Although I did have to cut back a hell of a lot as I did find I fell into the trap that I was legless by the end of a night and almost fell into the alcoholic hole.
Now it's moderation for me for the most part but not because of mixing ability.

Cheers

lol
that maybe true... but you gotta think, 95% of the audience is drinking too, so as long as you're a tiny bit more sober, you're good. haha

a bomb of speed will sort ur alcoholism out :)

I get ing smashed. Sometimes a little too much but thats only due to prescription meds not alcohol.

LOL! Mmmmmm right... ;)

Seriously though, for you guys that are starting to play out on a regular basis, watch out because it does creep up on you. A little bit here a little bit there... someone asks you if you want to powder you nose.
Whilst it is all meant to be good fun and very often is, beware that this kind of lifestyle can take you to some very dark places if you don't take care.
I don't want to get all preachy on your asses and still have a good time, just reflect from time to time on what you are doing.

+1

it's taken me a lot of practice to get to this point, not really practice i guess but building my tolerance

i'm very much a borderline alcoholic, if not full blown now after playing in nightclubs the past few years

i do make a conscious effort to try and take it easy now though

it all starts innocently enough

i've seen a few djs go down that path

have fun, be careful, when it stops becoming fun, check your head

keep your feet grounded on why you started doing this in the first place, we all love the music, party prescriptions are a plus
