To those who think they can DJ better when drunk: try recording your intoxicated mix and then listen to it the the next day.
Funny story: There was a guy here who decided to do shrums or something like that, mix psy, and record the mix. He mixed for 4 hours. All he heard the next day was noise because he messed up with wiring. |

yea, i've done it.
the mixes are actually pretty decent.
the thing is when you're semi-buzzed, you're less paranoid about if the track is out of sync ever-so slightly, and thus don't attempt to 'fix' it.
whereas if you're sober, u notice the tiny, nearly unnoticable, sync problems, and in a attempt to fix it, you make it worse.
but anyways, regardless of perfect mixing or not... its just more fun to dj with some juice in the vains... and thats what matters right? :P |

just like in the 320 vs wav thread
just because you can't do it doesn't mean other people can't
after working in the nightclub industry for years, playing drunk is comfortable and the results aren't what you'd think
i have recorded sets and mix cds both after drinking and sober, my drunk cds are tighter and flow well
when i'm sober i start thinking, not always about djing and tend to be a little sloppy
after a few drinks in me, i can get into the music and start getting into a solid groove
everything just happens, it's second nature now |

| You have to find a balance as although you mix better the more you drink, the more often your'e gonna need the toilet, and you don't to have to keep running off to take a piss every half an hour. |

| I have no problems going to the bathroom six times during a set. |

Yesterday I came home after a few beers and puffs and came up with the craziest and tightest mixes I've ever done.
If done properly the track selection becomes easier and there's more will to experiment. |

Don't know why, I have always had an iron bladder... As long as I go before I'm on, I can go for hours.
Of course you could try the other approach and get so loaded that you don't care even if you yourself... Tends to make it harder to get with the ladies though. :D
Cheers

| i remember the last time i had a few I was cueing a song with the main speakers and listening to the song that was supposed to be playing in my headphones, i have not DJ'ed and consumed alcahol seince, and i belive that anyone who thinks alcahol makes them a better DJ is talking beacuse alcahol relaxes your muscles, so its pretty damn hard to beatmach when your loosy goosy for the time you have that buzz, but of course you are not gunna be aware of this beacuse you are under the influance |
