Hey I know that feeling, If I was here in the BAY and not in LA for Armin's 8hr show on saturday I would bring you along, but if you dont find anyone I would still recommend you to go... the people are friendly and you will see many TA's there...

But I would go no matter what, dont miss out on a good night of partying just because you are alone..

anyway good luck..

just go, even if its by yourself! I missed so many gigs since turning 21 cause I had a friend who only wanted to go for headliners (AVB/PVD) -- he left after AVB one time just as Rank 1 was about to get on :whip:  I finally decided to go on my own, and since then I've met a lot of great new friends. You're bound to bump to TAs as well, just ask around when you're up front or try to remember our mugs from our avatars or pics

You get the point :p You can always go to one of the dinners like this Friday before Dirty/Taj/Corsten gig.

Yeah, just go by yourself if you have to.

I missed out on a year+ of my big clubbing life because I wouldn't go because I didn't know anyone else who wanted to go!

Then one night in like mid-2001 my and a bunch of friends were leaving a house party or something and trying to catch a cab. We happened to be right near Ten15 where my roommate bounced at the time. And Ferry Corsten happened to be playing that night and had only been on for a little while. We were all pretty tore up at the time and I was able to convince my other roommate to go in with me. So we went in and my friend left after like five minutes cause he was tired....but I decided to stay.

Best decision of my life. From that point on it was much easier to go by myself and within a few months I was going every Friday and Saturday night I could. From there I expanded my nights going out and started going out everywhere all the time. I probably went out too much, but oddly enough during this time is probably when I was doing my best work at work. It was weird! Probably just because I was young. Anyhow, I got to know some people but most of them worked at dot.com's (as did I and still do, but I have survived!) so when the crash happened most of them were laid off by the first part of 2002 so I was back to square one on meeting people.

Luckily I found the 1015 board around then and sometime soon after Ten15 left us throw a private party upstairs and that's where I got to know a ton of people again! I believe a few months later is when I found TA, although the SF TA crew was pretty non-existent.

The 1015 board family was very tight and hung out together at events all over the place. It was HUGE too....but barely anyone from those times still goes out. Lots of people have moved, some of have just grownd out of the clubs scene, and other things. I still see a few on a regular basis and I see Ishmael all the time

For a couple years there to SFTA family sucked, I must say. Most of the peeps on the West Coast board were in SoCal and most around here weren't very involved or underage. So I was without a family for quite awhile.

But that's totally changed in the past 12, maybe 18 months. A family has once again formed! And I love it. It's pretty easy to approach any of us and as long as you aren't some freak, your easily accepted.

I know some people are very shy about approaching some of us to try to get to know us in person, but don't be. Just come up and ask if we are from TA and bam...it begins. But don't ask, say hi, and then fall back into the shadows. Something I have been guilty of myself in the past as I'm pretty shy until I get to know you. That's why peeps don't find myself in many pics lol. But in the end, the bigger the family the better! So make yourself known.

(Damnit, I rambled on again)

no doubt SFTAs are a friendly bunch. I'm new to all this and as a newcomer i feel very welcomed. I first met andrieux from all the ferry shows @ 1015. then when i went to 1015 i met T dizzle thru matt. they told me about this forum (which i have been inactive for a long time).

I came up and introduce myself to the TAs i recognize and they were very nice! Dave even let me go backstage for a pic with above and beyond lol. the best part of knowing the TAs is having a good time with people who appreciate a good crowd and great music.

DaveT was the first TA I met since I recognized him from his avatar! :D

i might as well use this opportunity to introduce myself as i contribute to the topic...

DaveT, i know exactly what you mean about missing out like that and rizo, i've had the same kind of headliners-only friends.

since i finished college several years ago, most of my regular friends just aren't into this clubbing scene. but in the past year, i pretty much said ' it' and i no longer care about going solo if none of my friends care to "tag along". and not to diss them, but it felt like a chore having to "drag them along": they want to leave at 2am, they complain about the crowd, etc. i'm just a huge music fan in general, and these days i no longer wait up for friends if i really want to go to any show, techno, punk, hip-hop, etc.

anyways, i've lurked all the bay area message boards over the years, but this summer has had so many good acts week after week, that i decided to get back onto the boards just to keep track of all the shows. it also helps build the anticipation... that way, mondays aren't so bad: "only 5 more days to go!"

so i need to meet some of you TAs as well... i'm usually the very easy to spot tall white dude.... hence my nickname "2tall" which rhymes with my first name "Rafal"... 2tall Rafal!
