We get it, you're proud of your city - but s sake bro, it's not the travel destination of the century, nor mecca for DJ's. Give it a rest.

Edit: You clearly missed the point, lol.

Ok Rob, Greg is totally off about the New York thing and I was just being my patented disturbing self (which makes for great threads) but if you search back to the days of disco and even the North American 90's rave scene Montreal burst into the house scene roughly around the same time Frankie was doing his thing at The Warehouse in the 80's. In the 70's,80's,90's the scene basically attracted people from the north east as it does today. 4 cities did San Fran,Chicago,New York , Montreal. Bas & Clovis will scream LA but bull..that city has never had a distinctive flavour associated like Montreal house(and techno too if you research) Chicago house, Detroit techno ect ect. With all the European influence throughout history our nightclubs have always been ahead. From the famous bordello acts of Lily St-Cyr to being the Jazz hub outside of New Orleans during segregation. We are more open, we live more freely and with less attachment to possession and more value on expression. The music is only part of the equation, a vibe an animal quite of its own.
Now if this doesnt make sense i'm rolling balls so PLUR

if you do some research you will see4 that you are quite wrong but thats ok too...Inever liked Bret favre.

LA had it's scene way before SF and even before New York. After the Madchester era was over a lot of the English guys directly associated with The Hacienda headed over to Santa Monica.
