Well. That was pathetic effort by Canada.
I don't mind when a team loses, but just the lack of effort disappoints me. No hustle or work ethic at all. It's not like Austria played well, or Canada wasn't good enough to beat Austria. And Canada is supposedly the home team, but played like away team
Can't string passes, or beat a man one on one. Crosses were abysmal. Defence was ok but shaky at times.
Missing the net from like 5 yds out is just pathetic. You know a team is lacking in balls when in desperate is reduced to launching hopeful long balls up the field, compared to teams like South korea even when down 3-0, tries to create using passing and runs.
This Dale Mitchell dude who is suppose to take over as the senior men's team manager, I'm not sure if he's the right guy if this is the level of effort he can get his boys to put out. |

just got home from the game and the after party. Wow! Questionable penalty and 1st goal..but the 2nd one was a thing of beauty. The referee was a pedaso de mierda hijo de la gran recontraputamadre!!! and because of his yellow cards we now have a few players in trouble of fouling out in the next game, also it gave Portugal the opportunity to score a goal (which they did). A beautiful free kick mind you, a bullet in the last minutes of the game.
Great fan support for both teams. Although there were definitely more Portuguese fans than Mexican ones.
Don't quite know what Portugal was thinking when they kept trying to score from 100 meters out????

I think Mexico is the most overall well rounded team in the tourney. Dos Santos... that kid can play.
