LOL, I want some of whatever he is on.

on a more serious note though, the crowd seemed to be getting a kick out of it though even if it was a prerecorded set so he is doing his job no?

Aye, I think you are right.

I think what probably offends people here is that he is prettending he is something he is not i.e. a live DJ.
But as you correctly pointed out, the crowd in some of those clips seems to be going mad, especially when blue monday comes on.

People seem to be enjoying themselves through the music and watching his antics.
I have been playing around with this one for a while as I wasn't sure how I felt about it.

I have arrived at the conclusion that the minute we start telling people how to enjoy themselves is the moment that we disapear up our own arse and ultimately loose the interest of the clubbers. Which so often happens in the DJ world.

To the haters...
Some stated that he is doing what many wish they could i.e. have a club eating out of the palm of your hand. There is no use in getting bitter and twisted about it, with that mentality you will never get to where you want to.

Stop fussing so much about what other people are doing and focus on your own !

tell me, do u not find it the slightest bit frustrating that u have to make an effort to rock the crowd, then u see this "past his sell by date" biggot rocking the crowd on prerecorded mixes.

yep, ok. maybe he did the mixes himself (at least, i hope so) but he obviously doubts his skills as a dj to not do it all live! this is not "kool"

Not really, I love what I do and have been fortunate enough to see people go for it to the power of 10 during sets to real DJing, still interacted and had a really good time.
I see so called named DJs play sets they have been playing for the last month or so and with less emotion and enthusiasm. Amounts to almost the same thing for me.

I think I have probably seen too many DJs in my years to really be too upset by this.

Probably what updsets a lot of people is that this guy doesn't have the skills and they in turn feel that they they have earned the right to be where he is. Understandably so, he hasn't had to take all the that the DJ business can throw at you and experienced all the rejection, and probably doesn't have to pay for vinyl, CDs or downloads.

I think I'm at an age now where it doesn't bother me but probably should.
Still haven't totally made up my mind, but me worrying about it is going to make absolutely zero difference to those who go and enjoy his performances and nothing for his will to stop being a tool. There for I have decided that it doesn't bother me because I know I am better than him. Will happily put my money where my mouth is too.

Cheers

If you've ever seen a video of a muppet holding onto something and shaking about, or moving about whilst its hands are securely taped to that object, you'll know why I spent 20 minutes finding the following.

TAKE THE TIME TO GO TO THE MIDDLE OF THIS VIDEO.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUGeCpj6TJk

He moves so much like the DJ from the op's video its rediculous.

And the music is better.

i totally agree. its either u dont do ur homework and ur obligated to work night time, or else do ur homework and dance all night long. plus u can do the jesus pose all night long and go in the guiness record for holding a 6 hour jesus pose straight.

Check the first video again, and then check the part about 1:15 into the vid. If that's not faking it then I am a Jehova's witness on acid!!!
All that vid proves is that they guys has a sense of rythm, which is bloody lucky considering he is a bassist, understands music structure because let's face it, he does know roughly when a phrase is ending and another is about to start. You don't see him touch the the decks at any point other than the one where he accidentally switches the sound off totally.

Man I have wasted too much time on this thread...

Each to their own. :)
