So I guess it wasn't a rumor after all. He missed his flight. I first heard around 5pm. I threw up a post, and then took it down due to negative feedback.
I'm not exactly well connected if you know what I mean. That means other people knew and didn't say anything..... |

Lets get something straight, YOU are A DICK not a jerk. We are just glad most people have a degree of intelligence to figure out when someone wants to sign up and get on a message board to be a DICK. Some people left last night and missed out on an other wise excellent night of music provided by some of the hardest working people in this scene. I thank you.
I met people who drove as far as Arizona, San Diego, Nevada, Santa Barbara for this and made the best of it. As far as your comment about us knowing and not saying anything, How do you know that since you are NOT well connected?
If its reads like a hater, it must be. Anybody with any issues about what happened address them to Giant, we aren't going any where and as alot of the people here know, I am the last to run from explaining and taking care of our audience.

ps. Sarah, you should have made the drive, you might have just had a good time and perhaps felt what a positive vibe feels like. |

Um. I'd get mad too if I paid to see Danny Howells, and it wasn't delivered. Excuse me, I mean disappointed. It's a good thing I didn't go. I wouldn't have had fun because I like Danny Howells, and I don't particularly like Boris MD. I like to listen to Danny Howells with my 12 dollar beer. happens. Better luck next time. Glad it worked out though. Keep up the good work Giant.

Boris actually played some alright tracks, he kept it on the techy side, but no one played anything close to what Howells would have done to that room. Nobody played any in house! Like was said though, I had fun seeing some people I havn't seen in a while! I'll def make it back down when Danny returns, I'm sure he'd rock that space. Nice little club with good sound. The layout is weird though, hard to get around.

Anyway, me and a bunch of friends drove all the way to Tentation, and when we found out about Danny Howells, they refused to stay! I kinda wanted to stay just to hang out for a bit and see the rest of my friends. I mean we drove ALL the way out there, and there was nothing else going on. I didn't drive, so I had no choice but to leave with them.
So we left and ended up @ Standard downtown. Stayed there for a bit (would have had A LOT more fun @ Tentation), then went home. |

First of all, I didn't sign up to be a dick. I am not a hater, and the_jerk is just a nickname.
I like Ryan Sage and Boris a lot. I would go out to see either of them (as I have before several times). However, my point is that an update would have been appropriate from a promoter or someone that knew ahead of time Danny wasn't going to be there.
Like other people have said on this board, they were disappointed Danny didn't make it. Further, they would have reconsidered coming out for the night if they knew ahead of time. This doesn't mean that last night didn't kick ass, and that the people associated with the night are neither talented nor hardworking.
I like Thursdays at Ten, I think it is the best EDM night in Orange County. I will continue to enjoy it in the future. I just didn't agree with the way this whole ordeal was handled.

*ahem* Excuse me... I know what a freakin positive vibe feels like. I am one that always tries to make the best of what ever it is. Don't get your chonies all twisted, not my fault Danny didn't make it. Be glad that most ppl stayed and still had a good time.
Anyway, as I mentioned in the other thread before I found out about the minus Danny... It was already around 10:00ish, too late for me to get ready, and I just didn't have any umph left to do anything, especially that drive by myself. :thepirate |

from what i was told, Danny didn't make it due to Heathrow airport being closed for part of yesterday due to a bomb threat. over 100 flights were completey cancelled...they tried their best to get him here and he was enroute and in the US but they just couldn't get him here on time.
Giant had signs posted all over describing the situation, and giving out comps for Sat nite for presale people - that seems a good compensation to me.
everyone that went had a great time i think....of course it sucks Howells didn't make it but sh*t happens sometimes.
Boris played some cool tech and proggy stuff. way i looked at it was i knew ~20 people there maybe. we'll have fun anywhere :toocool: |
