amen

It's one thing to clap, point, fist pump, but this particular DJ pose is tres cheese.

Someone should track the ratio of time spent in this pose vs time spent actually mixing/cueing/etc for one these guys.

it's more like hands-in-the-mid-air kinda moment :D

Hands in the air, clapping, random euphoria is fine. I accept.

But the specific pose (see Armin's pose above) indirectly implies flagrant self deification.

honetly, who gives a ?
i cant believe something so minute can "offend" you so much.
djs have been known to do much worse things....
take danny tenaglia for example...
i would be more offended after having paid $50-100 to see him play and all he does is get so ing wacked/killed/high/destroyed and all he does is do stupid on stage and play a horrible set where he cant mix properly (which he has a tendency to do these days).

I disagree. Your argument is, "hands outstretched looks like Jesus on the cross, THEREFORE anyone doing that is imitating Jesus". The THEREFORE is the fallacy in your argument because one is independent of the other. They just look similar. It's another way of getting the crowd before them more excited. Jesus does not get people excited.

I think the best counter argument I can provide is that if there was no Christianity, DJs would do it anyway.

And when there is 3000 people in front of him all high as kites....i think they consider him a deity for those few hours as well

I'm sure Jesus was not even the first person to do the pose...unless time itself started at his birth?

Some people just don't understand do they!? ;)

What the do you think everybody on the dancefloor does when those tracks come on??? If you get offended, don't look at the dj, keep your eyes on the hot brunette you've been stalking all night and watch her raise her arms in ecstasy and wish you could make her feel the way the dj does :p

I'll admit, Armin takes it to the next level (no pun intended), but it's more humourous than offensive.
