I'm taking latin lessons to brush up on the "holy" language.
Benedict's a biatch. What people were saying about him ... well ... he's doing actually worse than imagined.

I can appreciate your position and acknowledge there is truth in what you say. It is unfortunate that, in all religions, there are not only misguided parishioners but clergy as well. I try to help where I can but some people are far too closed minded and unwilling to question what they believe to be true... which is an great shame especially amongst people who profess to be Christians as Jesus' entire ministry was about questioning the practices and interpretation of Jeudism. |
The thing is that Jesus was a jew, he practiced and believed. So technically, Christians should just be reform Jews, cause thats what Jesus was. He questioned his religion, but he didnt try to change his faith. |

Sorry but on this point you are only partially correct. True, Jesus was a devout Jew, abiding by the laws and practices of his faith, however, immediately prior to his death he issued a new law meant to replace all of the old laws. The scriptures state that at the last supper he stated that he was to give us a new covenant... to love one another as he has loved us. To Christians, believing in the divinity of Jesus, this is God declaring all the old laws null and void, replaced by the new law - to love one another in the same manner in which God loves us. Now, if one replaces all the laws and practices of a faith then one must consider it to be a new faith. |

| Who wants to sit through an hour-long mass that's in Latin? No wonder church attendance is down. |

| So does anyone else get the feeling that religion, just may be a waste of time? |

I am of the opinion that nothing should be accepted with blind faith. All things, including nay especially faith, should be scrutinized fully and only those things that stand up to scrutany be accepted as truth. It is most unfortunate that the vast majority of people defer this responsibility to others, which creates the opportunity for the dishonest and self-serving to take advantage of their trust... or moreover, their lazyness. |
how can faith not be blind? i mean, given the nature of what faith is- an unsubstantiated belief. |

| As long as Catholic girls wear short mini skirts and are more kinky in bed than Protestant girls, I don't care what the Pope says |
