DJ Tiesto live @ Gatecrasher NEC 13-04-2002 (pg. 4)

These two tunes began the set off, DJ Tiesto only started playing and mixing well after these. AS for Plastic Boy, This was by far the tune of the set. |

| after reading all of these posts i feel like i need to put my 2 cents in...i agree that commercials suck but it's something that i've learned to deal with in my years of enjoying live sets. i can't complain about the quality of the rip because i'm from the US and i had a better chance of osama bin laden knocking on my door and handing me a winning lottery ticket than i had of going to the UK for this event. so thank you to all involved. as for the mixing quality, no one can be perfect and everyone makes mistakes (if you don't then you should be a DJ and everyone would cream their shorts at your mixing ability.) currently i have close to 30 live sets from Tiesto dating from '99-'02 and i can definetely say that i did like the older uplifting stuff a little more (that's what turned me onto him in the first place) but everything is changing and i feel like he mixes a pleasurable amount of uplifting and progressive tracks. for a few months back in '01 he was playing a lot of the same tunes over and over again (utah saints - lost vaugeness, shiller - das glockenspiel...i got very sick of these) and his sets were begining to sound repetitive. i have a lot of respect for a universally known dj who sticks his neck out and changes up his style and tries new things and it's made me an even bigger tiesto fan. i loved his danceroom live set (except it was too short...did we ever get track 2 identified? it was so wicked) and i think his sets are improving each time as he adjusts to this 'different' style and track selection. if things keep going as they are then this will be a great summer full of great sets and great tracks and all that other happy stuff that makes us all tranceaddicts. peace. |

| i liked the old tiesto...the one that made the revolution cds(bright side and dark side)....im not digging this set at all.... |

| If you guys hate commercials so much, do what I do b4 i burn them to CD:- convert the whole thing to WAV, use any editor to simply cut them out - usually its real easy coz it will be mid-song, no need to worry about BPMs, a simple fade in\out will usually suffice, and tho it may sound dodgy, can produce nice results! Sometimes you will need to do a bit of work if its during a transition or something, but i do it with all mine and burn for my friends who don't even notice. Smooth uninterrupted live sets, woohoo! |

haha thats not the problem. The problem is that the commercials interrupt the song and might even end a song in mid play...even if you cut the commercials out you still got missing parts of songs on your set. |

wookie, I agree....I personally feel this was an EXCELLENT set. I don't really worry about the mixing too much from Dj's, as long as there are no major trainwrecks that ruin my flow/dancing, etc. Even IF there is a rough transition between songs, so what...who cares, as long as I can keep dancing, that's what it's all about right!?!?!?
But for real, the recording of this set was AWFUL!!!!! They could have done a MUCH better job than they did, and I felt THAT is what took away from the set...not the set itself. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING WHEN THEY CUT OUT OF THOSE BEAUTIFUL VOCALS IN "ANDAIN - SUMMER CALLING" !?!?!?!?!?!??! GOD, i COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE...THEY JUST CUT OUT/INTERRUPTED AT really BAD TIMES...OH WELL, i STILL THINK IT WAS A great SET!!!!! |

| I just downloaded this one and had a chance to skim through it, and overall I enjoyed it. Not tiesto's best work for sure, but a decent set that would have certainly rocked live. |
