Yeah, that set was a bit of a dissapointment, but don't get me wrong it still rocked. I went to the gallery @ turnmills to see him the night before the NEC, his set/mixing was so much better you lot would have loved it.

HOLY !!! THE MIXING WAS E, BUT THE TRACKS WERE GREAT!!! complete opposite from what i expeted from tiesto! wished id gone to see him and talla instead of 3 hours of paul van e :(

as fly just said to me, its all about the music. so his mixes were about 3 seconds, but in the end its all about the tunes and energy, its not like we all went there to view it like an opera. in the end tiesto dealt what was required, and its a damn shame i missed it. he's earnt my repect now, unlike a certain other DJ!!! ;)

I just downloaded this one and had a chance to skim through it, and overall I enjoyed it. Not tiesto's best work for sure, but a decent set that would have certainly rocked live.

Two face?...two faced????,thought ya liked in arrrrd stuff?:clown:

btw that tracklisting is missing the first two tracks. the second one is a 80's song which i can't quite rememeber the name of.

C'mon !!! how is it that you don't know what song it is !!! Enjoy the silence is the song that got me into techno ... before that I didn't knew of it's existance !!!

Anyway I'm just hearing the set for the second time (just downloaded it yesterday) ... I agree in part with both sides ... Tiesto is playing great songs but his mixing tempo is quite messy.

Does anyone know the name of the track(s) before the dave mathews one? Like the track he's playing right when the mp3 starts? I like that track a lot and want to know the name please :D

Heh, I really like the second half of this set, after southern sun. The first half (the DMB tune, 4 strings) was too melodic for my tastes, but it really got rocking starting with Alphascan

but to be fair...in the club the set was WICKED!!!!!!!!!

You have to understand that Tiesto has to play a majority of new music. The style has changed a bit recently, so not as many people are making songs like you described above (yes, I know some are relatively new, but that's not the point I'm trying to make). Anyways, the tracklist looks pretty good... its uplifting enough to not complain about (imo).

You're absolutely right about the mixing... but you can't expect a perfect set every day of the week (regardless of how much money you make).

Listening to this set right now...

OoOoOoO...I'm loving that Michael Wood's remake of DM's Enjoy the Silence....one of my favorite bands of all time

Another one of my favorite bands...Dave Matthews Band...but I think Tiesto should just stick with Sarah McLachlan...b/c this remix sucks!!

Well, I agree that a lot of Tiesto's older sets have a lot more energy, but it's all about progressing your music. A DJ shows his true talent by continuing to develop his style, not just stick with that one style he is known for. I see that in a lot of DJs and respect it too. Its just a sign that his music is growing and let's just hope that the crowd follows his music too.
