I Hate When People Refer To Anyform Of Electronic Music As Techno!!!!! (pg. 2)

when i was first getting into EDM music, i had no idea what it was termed... and no culture to educate me, living where i did, so i called it techno as well, at that point; i think people call it that because they figure 'technology' made it, ie, computers etc...therefore it's called techno. I've since been educated in the scene, and now know (and appreciate) many genres of EDM, including techno... i think it is fine to have enough pride in what you enjoy to get annoyed when someone terms it incorrectly. Similar to how a wine enthusiast would become annoyed with the layman incorrectly terming their spirits... or when you go for SCUBA courses and call fins 'flippers'...they get really annoyed. I think it is fair game that if someone wants to talk about a subject, they should be mildly educated on it...otherwise, prepared to have someone annoyed at your brazen and carefree sectionalism and disregard for their culture (whatever the topic may be)

your an idiot, if u read what i wrote i do explain it to people, and i think that overgeneralizing a entire type of music is ignorant and insulting. so, no "im not annoyed because some people dont have the same musical taste as me", as you put it (which has nothing to do with anything) i am annoyed with over generalizations and using the wrong name for something.
i didnt say anything about being pissed that people dont like the music i like, im just saying people should know what theyre talking about before they open their mouths. |
