I would feel really guilty allowing my parents to pay for my wedding. I know that’s how it’s supposed to go down, but if I want some extravagant wedding, I’ll just pay for it myself with my husband. I mean, unless my parents were filthy rich and it wasn’t an issue, but they’re not. My dad makes good money, but not enough to whip out the check book and be like, “how much”
Oh and the only things I would really splurge on for my wedding are my dress (has to be a designer dress) and the cake/food. |

i would much prefer to pay for the dress myself, but if someone offered i wouldnt turn it down ;) |

this isn't exactly the dress i want for my wedding, but it's pretty close... in terms of style/simplicity.

question - isn't the whole point of the bride wearing white is to symbolize the fact that she's, in essence, "pure"?

My parent's paid for my sister's wedding, cost a lot too! :eyespop: Course in the brief moment of stupidity (about your age too Narcy!) I had myself after my mother passed away and decided to take the plunge, I paid mostly for my own, biggest waste of money ever... :mad: |

I think it would suit you well that style, make sure it's made out of something nice, that just looks a little too much like cotton or something :) |
