Do you "work" at work? (pg. 4)

I have a fluctuating work scale... I will have weeks at a time where I am ing flat out with projects and installations (I am an IT systems engineer if your wondering) and other weeks where I will sit around, dick in hand.

The last job I was in where I was an admin at a girls school was one of the most boring jobs I've ever done, I would have about 2hrs of work in an 7-8hr day because there was none. I hate comming to work and just sitting on the internet, there is only so many forums you can look at and only so long you can work a boring job.

Wow, I'm jealous of all you people, time to get a new job imo. First job at fast food place ftl :(

I work my ass off for my entire shift, or my manager starts bitching at me, and they always time our shifts to be just short enough that we don't get a break in the middle.

I run my own business, so I would have to say.... Yeah, if I don't work, I don't get paid :p

Although I still get to spend some time on TA, some other sites, and chatting with people on MSN lol. In between 'work' of course :D

I work for myself and do fairly well out of it, but I (now in hindsight- foolishly) decided to do a bit of casual work on the side to keep me occupied and stocked in cat food would be a good idea. It isn't, aside from my own stupid workload, my boss nicked off to europe for holidays so I'm doing all hers as well... there's a few complicated reasons why she wants me to suffer :(

i just got a 3000 dollar raise yesterday, my benefits doubled and i got an extra week of holiday just because we got bought out by a bigger company.... ahhhh corporate mergers....

I've always been working my ass off. I've found that as a general rule, the more you're getting paid, the easier your job is. The toughest you'll ever have to do is minimum wage jobs where you work until you get migraines, foot cramps and partial blackouts and then get thrown at you for not working hard enough. Then eventually you work your way up towards sitting in a chair all day, browsing internet forums and making three times what you used to.
