Whoa - Quite the split!
I was kinda surprised how the tune progressed, I was expecting a little more variation on the rhythm through the whole thing. Ah well - Gives me something to mess around with when reworking it.
Side note: Daft Punk sampled Edwin Birdsong's 'Cola Bottle Baby' for 'Harder Better Faster Stronger' if memory serves. |

its more like Daft Punk feat KW, all he did was add a little beat to it and sang his lyrics, now hes gonna make millions because most "hiphopers" don't even know what daft punk is |

missy re-did one of their songs too not too long ago.
seems like when hip hop struggles to find new ways to develop itself it steals from other genres
i.e. these eyes - maestro (i forget the orig.)

and oh god the list is truely endless of hip hop productions that blaintly steal or sample just about anything in order to sound fresh.
truly i find it quite sad. at least electronic music, EDM, electronica whatever u preferr, reinvents itself by sub-dividing, refurbishing, and stretching its own limits.
IMO of course.

Re-edit, Remix, respray, interpretation, envisioned concept.. It's all the same in the long run.
The breakbeat, the pads, stabs, bitcrushed edits, guitar, etc. are all him, only the vocoded sample and chord progression are Daft Punk so I think listing ft. Daft Punk is pretty fair. It's a blatant sample that tons will recognize from adverts and radio but I figure it'll work to both their advantages. |
