With that said, I agree with firestarter... you're not exactly people I'd expect to be arguing over semantics, you seem rather on the same wavelength in general, and watching the thread evolve was quite fun. :D ;)

The Nazi's record-keeping was so thorough that millions of records still exist recounting the events of world war II. Basically, anyone who wants Jews dead is a halocaust deniar, because it gives them an excuse to carry out what they really want. Another halocaust. |

If there's another "holocaust" coming up, I'm pretty confident in saying that it won't be "Jews." Fact of the matter is, the holocaust is nothing more than a political tool. Sure it was an aweful attrocity, like countless others through out history. There's nothing special about the holocaust in that regard, yet it used to the fullest politically. That is actually quite repulsive and complete diservice to the memory of actual victims of it, justifying similar crimes in their name.
You're pretty ing dense if you think there's people out there who actually deny "the holocaust" happened. |

yeah, stalin murdered a load of people. but i still dont equate that with the systematic slaughter of an entire people who had the wrong race/religion.

yes it is, but its still not the same imo. millions of displaced people is different from herding millions of jews into concentration camps and murdering them.

How about the inquisition? That was rather systematic, where Jews and Muslims, and anyone else who wouldn't be subservient to the Church was slaughtered.
Kosovo? Bosnia? The Crusades? Pol Pot? There's a load of example man, what are you talking about.
EDIT: You might want to take a look at the "official" numbers when it comes to how many Jews were slaughtered and persecuted in concenrtration camps, the major ones being Auschwitz and Treblinka. The six million figure is absolute horse when it comes to "systemtic killing." If I recall correcty, Aushwitz is supposed to be around 1.4 mill and Treblinka rougly 860,000 - 870,000. It's interesting to note that all the documents of the nuremburg trials are still not public and the "official figures" are based mostly on heresay and unverifiable testimony. No one is saying the holocaust didn't happen, or it wasn't an aweful attrocity that should have never taken place to begin with, but the victims of the holocaust weren't soley Jews, although it was mostly Jews since Jews were the majority when it came to "undesitables" who weren't 100% native Europeans. You forget Gypsies, communists and other leftists, political desenters, and others I'm forgetting at the moment. Plus, Hilter used Jews as a scape goat to mobolize the population, taking advantage of the anti-semitism that was prevelant in Europe at that moment, making Jews an easy group to target. Not only that, but the guy was a ing weird nut who had an Aryan supremacy disposition, where even "unpure" or "weak" Aryans were tossed in to camps or persecuted or steralized (Eugenics). So Jews clearly aren't the only victims, although they had it pretty bad during WW2 when the really hit the fan. I could expand more on this, but I'm kind of sick and tired of this biased bull that favours one group over everyone else. You should be too. And no, I think it's repulsive to hate someone just because they're Jewish, so don't go putting words in my mouth, and don't forget that my gf is Jewish, who's more anti-zionist than me lol. |

i still dont think any of them reach the level of horror the nazi's did. though i cant say for sure about the inquisition, dont know much about that. but i wouldnt include it anyway, given it hasnt occured in our "enlightened" times ;)
and kosovo or bosnia? last time i checked there werent 6 million people murdered on a "construction line" ie ghettos => trains => camps => showers => ovens. |

A good number of that 6 million figure weren't even killed in camps if you've bothered reasearching the holocaust. Plus I edited my post above, so check it out. And before you do that, please smoke a bowl or something :D. |
