I love seeing that smile on a face of an older lady when give her my seat on the bus... or a Mom who I helped to take the pram with the baby down the stairs... or strangers asking me for directions on the street - all those smiles and thank you's are something that make my day |

You also have to consider that not everyone is expressive, and that everyone has a different way of communicating. Maybe what you perceive as rudeness is just another person's shyness, or language barrier, etc.
Perhaps work on learning to read people, and stop putting your own expectations on them and you'll see that the majority of people aren't as rude as you think. ;) |

that's an excellent point
I remember so many discussions happened about how rude ppl are in Toronto compared to other majors cities
I don't think it's true, I hardly ever come across rudeness here |

<3<3<3 It is hard sometimes, especially when you feel that karma isn't being fair, that you have given 20 times more than you have had back but then I make myself think about everything positive. Simon (my pet) dying really hurt me and I was angry. Why me? Why now? But after some time, I can now thank the universe for giving him to me and I am safe in the knowledge that I saved him from euthanasia at the humane society and gave him an uber cool home and an abundance of love.

Awww *blush* I enjoy it though, so does that mean I do it for selfish reasons? It is pleasurable to me to help, that's the main reason I do it. I am a selfish biatch.
Jenny, you're right, I used to flip out when people wouldn't hold the door or would stand too close to me but now I realize that most of the time, it is a cultural difference so I get in front and hold the door for them in the hope that it highlights to them the niceness of it and they may do it from then on in. If they don't, it doesn't matter :) |
