because something may come between us.....her goal is to give herself completely to her husband when she gets married, and not only do i respect that, i have made that my goal too.....if we have sex and then break up, then there goes that....its the ultimate gift to give your virginity to your partner in life (wife or husband) so i respect that she wants to do that and so i will not take that from her, or take that gift from her future husband

so what makes you think that if you're MARRIED and then have sex, something may not come between you then?

And besides: what if, after getting married, you discover that the two of you are totally incompatible sexually? For example, you have a high sex drive, and she has a low one? Do you know many break-ups occur because of that? And people could have discovered that earlier, by just living with each other making sure they were right for each other, before marriage... |

yes something COULD happen, but i'm not about to just up and marry the first person i like, and nor will she, we'll be together for many years and see how it goes....if then we decide on it, then we'll get married....and if we ever did get married i don't think we'll split up, i think if ever i'll get married then it'll stay that way...i'm not the divorce sort of person, yeah it may still happen, anything is possible, but i'm not about to marry whoever |

well its ur life but i think u're implying that refraining from having sex==maturity, which is just not true, IMHO...i dont think being a virgin is anything great or special anymore...what about all those who are (so-to-speak) involuntarily celibate?
all the same, i dont think its a great idea for really young ppl. to have sex, but then, as eugene said, they're just like young adults, sum of them mature enuff, sum not
btw, on a related note, i found sumthing really sad, weird and sumthing that made me think quite alot....its quite alot of reading, its the story of this 40 year old virgin(!!) in his own words...stumbled upon it by accident...

the only reason i am refraining from having sex is because i want to wait to give my virginity to that special person, that is all
i am by no means trying to imply anything about maturity....a person can be getting laid left and right and be any age and be mature as hell, and another person can be exactly the same and act like the youngest kid....
i think of myself as mature, hence the ability to refrain from having sex, even though my body is craving it, but thats not the only reason i think i am mature, and the same goes for my g/f i think anyway, although i can't speak for her
and being a virgin is still special to me, and if i stay with my g/f now and we end up getting married sometime down the road, she'll be very happy that i saved myself for her, and the same way
its not for everyone, by no means is it, and i do not look down on people for having sex, so don't get me wrong, this is jsut the right thing to do for myself |
