Hey guys,
To be honest, after I saw a few a few completely negative responses to this, I was afraid to look. But I finally did look today, and actually I found what I figured I would find from a bunch of tranceaddict - a bunch of pretty nice comments.
Just to clarify things, my original post wasn't meant to say "wow I have no friends, I never get out, I'm a virgin, and I'm petitioning everybody here to *please* be my friend". It was more like "wow, my friends suck, anybody bored?". I know the post was "TL;DR" though, but what can I say - I type fast and I like to write. :)
Also, cat macros are awesome. And as for my avatar, which a few people asked about - I really have no idea. I've been using it on various forums for years (really! since probably around 1998 or so), never changed it. |

A few people said this. Kind of sad there's not more trance addicts, no? And that apparently a few people have the same problem as me. I probably wouldn't go out to some event by myself, same way I probably wouldn't go to a movie by myself if there was nobody to go with. Nothing wrong with it though, seems like a great idea. :) |

Actually I just moved to Farmingdale, after living much further East for my entire life. Big change for me actually, and it's funny since on LI, everything is so close together, I don't see a lot of my old crew as often as I'd like, since it's like a 45 minute drive or so.

Like I said, sorry if anybody thought I was crazy due to my previous post(s). I didn't mean it like anybody took it. Of course I don't "interview" friends, or anything like that. The intention was not to sound like I had some kind of condescending attitude whereby I wouldn't befriend anybody that met certain "conditions". I guess it was just my writing style to write those things out as a description of me, not my ideal "friend".
It was really meant to be an "introduction/this is how I am"/"hey, I hope I see any of you guys somewhere, because my friends suck". :)
Truth be told, I'm actually a bit depressed about the situation, that's probably why I wrote such a long-winded post about it. There isn't anything I love more than seeing some big room DJ perform live.. it's always a truly great experience for me. This year my 25th birthday fell right around Tiesto at Hammerstein, and I wanted nothing more than to go. Turned out due to scheduling conflicts etc, none of my friends could make it. I hated hearing from other people how great it was there. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time that weekend, but really wished I was there. |

Oh how nice, you're right around the corner from me. If we get to know each other better we'll all have to start carpooling. I met Tom in the city while we were out, and it turns out he lives 10 minutes away from me, lol. It's always nice to find someone else to hang out with and help cut the costs with as well.

Yea, going out alone can be fun too. I started going out with a group of people and then things started to not work out. For a while I was like, oh no, I can't go out, I'm not going to know anybody. I finally decided, screw everybody else, I'm going out despite them, and I went out with one other friend. Wouldn't you know, that was the first time I ever met Molly, saw Meredith there, and Tom was actually there too! (Although I don't remember meeting him, lol) Oh yea! That was when I met Z as well! This was all before I even joined TA. Just start talking to people. A great place to meet people who like trance music.... is at trance parties :) I've met a bunch of people out who weren't on TA and gotten them to join TA (not that anyone here would know that cause none of them have posted anything, but it's the thought that counts). So go out, have a good time, go talk to people, and we'll see you there! |

YOU'RE not the one who should be apologizing. Some people were real dicks in the thread. I guess some people got a little too much NY/NJ attitude up their asses and can't figure out when someone is just trying to reach out and be friendly around here for once.
But anyway I doubt you and I would ever see each other out because I never go to big events anymore. But welcome to the scene; hope you have fun. :) |
