Why would you tip someone for service? Thats just stupid

Why would you tip someone for doing a job that was standard? Thats just stupid.

If they really do a ing good job, really excel and do a better job than what a waiter/waitress usually does, yeah then I can understand tipping.

Tipping shouldn't be an automatic thing, it should be something if they actually do a good job. Not a job, not a standard job, but a good job. That way theres actually an incentive for the person to do a good job, otherwise they're wasting my ing time and money.

precisely. If we're given poor food or service, we don't tip. If we do tip, we do so for good service and we give generously.

This thread reminds me of the beginning of Reservoir Dogs.

remember this people: When you give a valet your car they're in charge of a 5k, 10k, 20k+ $$. For a restaurant they are in charge of your entire meal. For a bartender they are in charge of your drink. So what I am trying to say is if you don't tip good or nothing the first time just wait until they remember your face and see you again:wtf:

Just be courteous and if they did a bad job in front of you then that is the only reason not to tip well or at all.

P.S. I know asking for tips it retarded but some people don't realize what I said above so I am trying to save them themsevles not just being cheap in general.

My way is
Valet, 1-5
meal, 15%
bartender, atleast 1$ a drink or if its open bar 20$ to make sure he sees me each time I want another freebe

Bad job = less tip

I normally leave over 20%, unless the service is pure crap. I was sitting at Applebee's once with my friends and decided to order a smoothie. It took the bitch about 30min to bring it out and it also tasted like crap. No tips for her.

policemen are in charge of UPHOLDING THE FRICKIN LAW. do they ask for tips? screw that man, those people get paid to do what they do. tipping should be completely my decision. it's amazing how society has programmed it so that for certain jobs, its courteous to give extra money. if i tip, it should be seen as ing generous, or rewarding at the very least, not common or the norm.
