| Ok, I've played some, and it's pretty fun. Much better than Doom 3, but I have to say it's not better in the fun department compared to FEAR and Hl2 |

Yeah Doom 3 was kind of a disappointment. It was better than that pathetic Doom movie though....but not quite as good as the originals for some reason...maybe nostalgia or at some points it was trying too hard to be "deep" or "story driven" or "scary". Even though it seemed kinda fake at points and dated, Doom 64 was much scarier..maybe it's the ambiance of the game, the music or the feeling of dread..much like the original Quake. I really want to check out Prey....it uses the Doom 3 engine but makes it even better. Just getting back into gaming after getting out of it for the past two years. |

Doom 64 was scary because you couldn't see . Like, at all. Ever.
Bioshock ing owns. It's so immersive, it's really, really hard to tear yourself away from the game and its ambience/design/atmosphere/psychology/whatever...it's truly great.
I've not played enough of it to say whether it's better than HL2 or FEAR, but it's certainly got more depth than either (no, that wasn't a pun on the fact that it takes place deep under water...ok, maybe it was) and so far it is fun as hell. If anything, it is most certainly comparable to both of those titles. Need to do more 'testing'. :D |

Out of curiosity, what system are you running this on?
I'm planning on getting a new computer this fall. This game, among others is one of my reasons for doing so. I'm settled on pretty much everything except the video card. |
