It is hard to narrow it down, but i will try and stick to electronic music.
In no particular order.
U.N.K.L.E - Psyence Fiction
Various Artists - Poker Flat Vol 5: Bets N Bluffs.
Sasha - Involver
Sasha & John Digweed - Northern Exposure
Loco Dice & Ricardo Villalobos - Green & Blue
King Unique & Nubreed - Elektrik vol 2
Steve Lawler - Lights Out (and i hate Steve Lawler but loved this.)
The Prodigy - Music For The Jilted Generation.
So many more...just a few off the top of my head.
Oh yes, St-Germain-Boulevard. Such sexy music.
edit:i just saw people get all anal and say these are not worthy because some of them are various artist compilations. Oh well I like these. |

why is it so hard to understand? a compilation is not your work and therefor can't take any credits for.
amazing that people have such difficulties to understand basic things. if i ask for your favourite types of apples I don't expect you to come with oranges or mangos. |

Actually it depends on whether or not you are a moron. Fascinating! |

I am starting to find this baord less an less interesting the more i read. From people attacking others over personal opinions, to a whole other host of things that perplex me.

I didn't realize he was asking specifically for artist albums. If we are to really get anal about it, so many albums already mentioned have songs with the artists who put out the Cd/Tape/Vinyl name on it, yet it was written by someone else. Does this mean a Jimmi Hendrix album is a compilation because Bob Dylan wrote and performed All Along The Watchtower before him? I understand what you are implying but think it is ridiculous the level of obsessed nit picking I am seeing. The edit was to reflect i did not realize what was being asked AFTER posting. I think some of those compilations are good and left them up. Music is about fun and enjoyment, not sucking the life out of it with details. Lighten up a bit :) Is everyone this bitter? I feel like I'm on a Star Trek board with people arguing about the most ridiculous things like who had the cooler fight song : Clingons(sic) and whatever that Worf guy was.
once again the edit was to reflect my understanding about this..i just did not redo my post because i didn't feel like it.
Relax..take a deep breath, it will be ok. *pets your head.*
*waits for the attacks...i think imperial troopers were better than ewoks*
sorry i offended you so. |

Older stuff that still gets lugged out fairly consistently, kind of a tough pick to keep it to 5 that I'll still roll without a 2nd thought.
Front 242 - Up Evil (and it's sister album 'Off')
Fields of the Nephilim - Revelations
Sisters of Mercy - Floodland
Ministry - The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste
NIN - Pretty Hate Machine
Secondary picks, mostly dependant on the mood but true albums like my first 5 I can't pick a fault with and don't have any 'filler' tracks.
A Perfect Circle - 13th step
New Order - Get Ready
Underworld - dub no bass with my head man
Loreena McKennitt - The Book of Secrets
Dead Can Dance - The Serpent's Egg
Seems to be eclectic enough :D |
