IN GENERAL

Trance is the only genre worth listening to and it's far superior to every other genre. 'I' love it therefore it MUST be the most brilliant!

I've never even heard any Techno, House, Electro, Minimal, Psy, DnB, Hardstyle, Hardhouse, Prog or Breaks. What's that? Pffft! I'm an expert of pretty much everything in music (I've been a musician for 18yrs but i just haven't learned to read/write music or play an instrument YET!) As an expert I believe these 'other' genres to be and have no place in the EDM world!!

Call me arrogant if you want but unless your expertise overshadows mine (highly ing doubtful) your opinion on any other type of music (if you could call it that) is completely invalid.

The advice I'm about to give is free:

Listen to Trance and be cool like me. You too can be an expert in being purposefully narrow minded to piss off all the uncool people that listen to 'weird '

P.S You 'may' think that I'm full of myself, not true, I'm just heaps better than you all (prob cuz I listen to trance ... and nothing else!!)

;)

dave im not pushing 'my style of amazing trance'
thats the whole point - im not pushing myself here :)

Personally I think playing music that you dont appreciate... to a crowd, to get them to have a good time... is far worse than stating your opinion, and standing up for it. In fact, I'm inclined to show respect for the latter - irrespective of whether I agree with their opinion.

Absolutely. I can't stand DJs who don't love what they are playing. I mean, wtf? Sure, sometimes you get boxed into a genre on a particular night due to a ty promoter or the need to pay the bills, but generally a DJ should love what he/she is playing.

yeah i wouldn't really call him a "TA" producer if he doesnt really post

ergo

mike nichol is not a TA producer,

concordantly that must mean he isn't a very successful one either

how the would you know? ;)

i dont think jules main argument is wrong..

75% of the tracks on ASOT are generic and sound crap (same goes with the genre in general)...i still love armin though

its normal for djs today to hide their true feelings about songs, djs, genres etc..theres nothing wrong with that because at the end of the day they are protecting their own "brand" and it doesnt help if they start bad mouthing too much or it could have an adverse effect on their own careers.

out of curiousity...does walter78 actually exist or is he mike nichol?

How the would I know what? If a dude doesnt appreciate what he plays? I don't. Only when I have had conversations with DJs who have played house music who tell me they only dropped those tracks in their set... because the punters like them. Its a bit like a producer who writes tracks he doesnt dig himself, knowing that more people would go out and buy it.
