eric prydz for example has released many house (yes, house is ) tunes that have made him amounts of money that would tempt anyone in their right mind, and with that amount of talent to produce regarless of what some people may think of him.
because at the end of the day he's going to keep on making what he really loves, and much less people will buy it, but he doesn't care because he loves it.
then when the cash dries up, he'll pull another piece of out and get rich again.. that's what he told me anyway.. brilliant
