| It's definitely not the norm to pop out a baby at 16 nor should people just deal with it. A large majority of these children were probably mistakes and these young parents generally aren't prepared. Whether it be financially or emotionally ready to be parents so the burden falls on others. Plus it makes it difficult for them to do the "normal" things people their age do like graduating from high school with their class, living in the dorms in college, etc. I'm not saying there aren't good teenage parents because I'm 100% sure they are but still doesn't seem right. Also, not to be a total snob but it is a bit low class to have a child at that age. |

who the are you to judge what's low class or not? |

I'd say there are, in fact, far more social pressures and consequences to becoming irresponsibly pregnant at an early age among higher income social circles than it is for lower income social circles.
Not that rich girls don't have teen pregnancies or something like that...it's really not widely encouraged among any social circles in the US, regardless of income. But 'high class' tends to be more socially conscious as far as public 'shame' is concerned. Generally speaking, of course. |
